This was my first trip to Nashville. I was there to attend the UGA- Vanderbilt football game so the location was perfect! ... It was also easy to get to and from the airport. The computers in the lobby were very helpful to print boarding passes. It was a pleasant walk to many nice restaurants and a great bookstore. I felt safe and would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to friends. The staff was nice and helpful!

I'm not a country music fan, but I still got something out of the Country Music Hall of Fame (though once is enough for me). But I got next to nothing out of the Grand Ole Opry museum. Probably just my personal taste though.

It was OK...
SuperMom Aug 23, 2009
The location was great; minutes from my daughter's campus. The rooms were average, clean but somewhat worn. The staff was ... very pleasant, but it looked like everyone else there qualified for a free breakfast voucher. Since we bought through Orbitz, we had to pay #10+ each! The "fresh" fruit released a swarm of fruit flies when I tried to take a piece.

Nice, tough competition though
ScottieB Aug 14, 2009
The room's were quite large and the location is fine, right between the Parthenon and literally next door to Vanderbilt's ... stadium. The 12.5 m pool is a little short if you want a workout. Parking's ample. And the courtesy shuttle was great getting downtown and out to dinner. The beds weren't the best, but not bad either. Holiday Inn though is right in the neighborhood of (at least) two other great hotels. Holiday Inn is more focused on the business traveler than the tourist, so it's bit less trendy and focused on luxury-amenities.

Convenient & clean!
L. R. Aug 3, 2009
This hotel had great on-site, live entertainment in the lounge (no need to fight the weekend evening crowds in downtown ... bars!). When we needed to get downtown, [...] was our friendly chauffeur that was available when we needed him for a ride or pick-up. While this location was not in the heart of Nashville (just outside), it never seemed like we were too far from any conveniences.

Excellent mid-range business hotel
JT Business Traveler Jun 22, 2009
This is a great hotel - I heard other travelers in the lobby compare it unfavorably with a higher-end hotel next door which I ... have also stayed in - and of the two, I preferred the Holiday Inn! Rooms are large and clean, with mini-fridge and microwave as well as the usual coffee etc. Being right next to Vanderbilt, the hotel is in easy walking distance of numerous dining options from white-tablecloth to fast food. It's also on West End Avenue, a straight shot into downtown Nashville (about 10 minutes even in 8am traffic). I'd definitely stay here again.
Traveler type: Business
Within two blocks, there are several good restaurants - Bricktops (American, casual-to-midrange), PF Chang's (Chinese), and J Alexanders (upscale American). There were also numerous options I didn't get to investigate, but there's definitely something for everyone.

Hotel offers a free shuttle to Second Street entertainment district( street is closed off at night to accomadate pedestrians. This made it easy to avoid parking hassles and designating a driver.
