Good Stay

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room even had a fridge and microwave as well as pillows of different firmness to choose from. The location is outstanding for the Vanderbilt campus area. The free shuttle can take you to downtown and pick you up there, which is great for a night out. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

anniversary get-a-way

The staff and room was great. Shuttle service to the main area of Nashville which was about 3 miles away. No hot tub....pool was not working when we were there...limited food in hotel but plenty of places around. Away from the hustle and bustle of music row which was nice. Had a great view of the Parthenon. No shuttle to Opry Land....had to bus it or spend lots for a taxi

Nice, tough competition though

The room's were quite large and the location is fine, right between the Parthenon and literally next door to Vanderbilt's stadium. The 12.5 m pool is a little short if you want a workout. Parking's ample. And the courtesy shuttle was great getting downtown and out to dinner. The beds weren't the best, but not bad either. Holiday Inn though is right in the neighborhood of (at least) two other great hotels. Holiday Inn is more focused on the business traveler than the tourist, so it's bit less trendy and focused on luxury-amenities.

I'm not a country music fan, but I still got something out of the Country Music Hall of Fame (though once is enough for me). But I got next to nothing out of the Grand Ole Opry museum. Probably just my personal taste though.

Above Average

The Holiday Inn Select, Vanderbuilt was reasonably priced and provided sufficient emenities. Having been placed on the Executive level, provided us with access to the business center and other treats through the day; bottled water, coffee, cookies, bagels, muffins, etc. Additionally, the hotel offers free shuttle service to the downtown area providing access to all of the music venues. If you're not in a hurry, this service works fine.

The replica of the Parthenon is just across the street from the hotel, in the park. It was an unexpected find and worth seeing at night.

Excellent mid-range business hotel

This is a great hotel - I heard other travelers in the lobby compare it unfavorably with a higher-end hotel next door which I have also stayed in - and of the two, I preferred the Holiday Inn! Rooms are large and clean, with mini-fridge and microwave as well as the usual coffee etc. Being right next to Vanderbilt, the hotel is in easy walking distance of numerous dining options from white-tablecloth to fast food. It's also on West End Avenue, a straight shot into downtown Nashville (about 10 minutes even in 8am traffic). I'd definitely stay here again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Within two blocks, there are several good restaurants - Bricktops (American, casual-to-midrange), PF Chang's (Chinese), and J Alexanders (upscale American). There were also numerous options I didn't get to investigate, but there's definitely something for everyone.

Will use them again.

I was in town for medical appointments at Vanderbilt, so this was a great location. I could walk to finer dining or fast food as both can be found within 2-3 blocks. It backs up to Vanderbilt campus and stadium and sits across from Centennial Park, so you can stoll if the weather is nice. You are less than a 10 minute drive from several other sites of interest and main interstate connections to get to the airport or on your way to your next destination. The hotel was not plush, but more than adequate with nice rooms, good heating / cooling, and more than just the basic amenities. Good breakfast buffet with friendly wait staff. I would stay there again.
