This majestic Nashville favorite is known for its extraordinary service and unique interior. Glass atriums house nine acres of lush gardens, winding rivers and rushing waterfalls in this smoke-free indoor paradise. Enjoy award-winning fare at Old Hickory Steakhouse Restaurant, housed inside the replica of an antebellum-style mansion, or unwind at Jack Daniel's Saloon, which tips its hat to Tennessee sipping whiskey. And no visit to Music City USA would be complete without a trip to the Grand Ole Opry, which is conveniently located right next door.

Rooms

Southern hospitality meets ultra luxury with 2,881 guest rooms, including 174 suites and 757 rooms with gorgeous view of the indoor gardens. Each room comes complete with high-speed wireless Internet access (fees apply) and voicemail. Junior suites include special touches, such as a wet bar, and full suites offer a moderate-sized living room, perfect for entertaining.

Property features

The hotel has received numerous awards for its excellent meeting spaces and unparalleled hospitality, including the prestigious "M&C Gold Key Elite" award by Meetings & Conventions magazine in 2006. Only five properties in the world have received this distinction.

No matter your taste, you'll savor the hotel's culinary offerings. Enjoy everything from Southern Italian cuisine at Ravello to spicy authentic Mexican favorites at Solario. For the perfect nightcap, try handcrafted cocktails in the atrium.

The 27,000-square-foot Relâche Spa offers indulgences such as 50-minute massages or meticulous manicures and pedicures. The spa's 3,500-square-foot 24-hour fitness center features state-of-the-art cardio machines and a sparkling indoor pool.

Family Opryland trip

We've stayed at G'lord in Grapevine Texas during the Ice exhibit last December. It was way over crowded with people due to the Ice exhibit, but it was nice they had all the things to see and decorated for Christmas. We thought it was terribly overpriced for that even though my parents paid. We went with open mind to Opryland Nashville. There was nothing to do. Really there was nothing to do unless you wanted to purchase overpriced bar drinks. We are in mid 40's with a 9 year old boy. The average age was probably close to 70. We walked the whole place twice and couldn't find anything worth holding attention more than a few minutes. My son ran up and down an empty convention hall twice so we could time his speed that's the most entertainment we had. We were really excited there was going to be a fountain show as for something for us to do for 5 minutes or so, they didn't post what times the water show would be, more on that later. We went to the early Opry show, which was totally awesome and got back around 9:30 pm. The lights were out just about everywhere! No mention of light show or anything so I guess we missed it. There were a few bars open, but nothing worth stopping at. I guess since the 70 year old crowd went to bed at 8:30, they shut down the place for the night. This was the first and the last time I will ever go to Opryland. I should have learned my lesson first time I stayed at the Texas version. The only time I will ever go back is if someone else is paying such as a company convention. I wouldn't put my parents through paying for such either. The rooms are very nice and clean, but the place is showing it's age that's part of what you're paying for. The whole place is secluded and very far from Nashville, so it's a long trip to get out to see the city. The rest of our trip during Nashville, we stayed at Holiday Inn near Vanderbilt and the whole experience was much more worth the trip even less than half the price.

A fantasy hotel

It's more of a fantasy than a note. The wrought iron balconies reminded me of New Orleans and the lush tropical plants reminded me of Jurassic Park.

Great family trip

Beautiful property, the gardens were absolutely amazing. The room was clean and very comfortable, and location was perfect. Wifi connection could have been better, it's included in the resort fees - we did not opt for the upgrades to faster service (I hate that hi-speed internet is not really high speed!). We were there for a cheer event, and of course so were a lot of other people, so the check-in lines were long... probably 40 minutes to get through that. I did not go to the indoor pool, but husband said it was not particularly impressive. Stuffy, strong chlorine. We ate at Ravello's - food & wine really good, but of course most of the food runs on the expensive side here. Brought our own bottled water - highly recommend if you will be here for more than a night since they are pretty skimpy on what they give you (2 bottles for 4 people) a day. Overall, a great trip and would consider it again.
