Not going back
The hotel was about 20 years behind in getting updated. There was mold all over the bathroom. As I was checking in the attendant kept swearing. We already pre-paid and it was marathon weekend so we were out of luck trying to get to stay somewhere else. Any future trips will not involve staying there.

Deffinatley not a 3.5 star hotel!
When we first got there our first rooms air conditioner was broken, moved us to a different room which was small and stuffy. The bathroom was gross, rust all over the vent cover, soap scum in the tub needless to say i didnt feel clean after a shower in this shower. Gunk build up on the handle of the sink from not being cleaned well. overall it was horrible not nearly worth the $113.00 we had to pay for one night in this place!!!

Needs renovation
The staff was courteous and helpful. The room however needed renovation. Wall paper was buckling; the tub had molding that was coming loose and buckling. There was an electrical plate that had the face place off and so wires were exposed. The room was clean but just stub-standard as far as the general condition. It appears this facility has been here for a while and needs a face lift.

OK facility...could be cared for more
Got an odd vibe when we walked in...not sure what is was, but there was a strange "aura." Maybe it's the history behind it...the "King of the Road" maybe...who knows. It's an odd place in a rather dreary industrial area near the stadium. The floor we were on smelled like mildew and they had a large fan blowing to disperse the odor and presumably the moisture. The hotel seemed to have major water problems - from this possible leak to the entire water system being out for a few hours on our day of arrival, plus some nasty brown water coming out of the sink... Didn't swim in the pool...the water smelled like it was 98% chlorine - the entire pool room (an odd location past a broken door and a gate) had the overwhelming smell of chlorine. The desk staff didn't seem to know very much about the workings of the hotel and the third person we spoke with printed off an incorrect folio for our stay (which I did not notice until we had left town). The general non-desk staff were very helpful and friendly, and the continental breakfast was extensive and pretty good. It was definitely not worth the price.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
My stay at Days Inn was comfortable with some high points and low points. The location is excellent since you are near to the downtown area as well as the expressways. The staff are very courteous and helpful. Although the hotel is obviously not new, it is well maintained both on the inside and outside. My major disappointment is that although I was supposed to be in a non-smoking room, the room wreaked of smoke. I had no trouble, though, having the room changed. However, as you pass through the hallways the smell of smoke was evident and upsetting to a non-smoker like myself. Also, the sound of the trains passing by during the night disturbed my sleep. All in all though, my stay was relatively pleasant.

very convenient
Easy walk to the stadium. Very friendly staff, even though we were there on Christmas day and they were having to work on their Christmas. My room was good; comortable and clean. My friends that traveled with us said they had problems getting the water hot enough, but we had no problems.

Great location for the price
Over all was a good experience. the carpet was still wet from being shampooed, the tv remote didn't work and after grandson scraped his knee at the pool, the staff had no bandaids.
