Singin the Blues at Best Weste Nashville
Great and helpful staff, valet parking, close to everthing downtown. HOWEVER, Bigtime jackhammering in the a.m. outside our window with something huge being built across the street. But worse jackhammering when we asked if we could cut short our stay from 4 nights to 3. [...] We were left vibrating like Jack Hammered Looney Tunes characters walking out the door after a barrage of NO's from the manager even though the clerk told us the night before that the same room we got at a good price is currently twice the price for anyone booking or walking in this week due to a current convention in town. We thought we could have a win-win conversation and outcome as we gave up the lower priced room to the benefit of the hotel that could then double their money. Since we completed our business trip we could win by getting on the road early and get back to our families some 13 hours drive away. The complaint is- Best West should hire someone with some tact and bit more business acumen since they are at the helm of that ship and I think we were run aground needlessly. If you go- Be a good customer and don't ask for anything unless you want to buy another night! If you like to fight, we highly recommend this hotel.

Short drive from hotel
If you like beautiful artsy wool hats, scarves, endless accessories go to the Scarlet Begonia at 2805 West End Ave. To get a big, big smile and great gift wrapping from the girls who work there tell them the guy who left them with a turtle and frog finger puppets from PA sent you. That simile alone is worth the trip.(Ask them about Hog Heaven too)

Best Western Downtown Convention Center
The hotel staff was friendly. The doors were located in an outdoor hallway and there were large windows facing the hall so people walking by could see in your room. The bathroom light was broken and we had to use the bathroom in the dark for one night because the maintenance people had already left.

not great, but met our needs
it was close to downtown and a relatively decent price... I would not say the description of the conditions met my expectations... A bit more run down than I expected. They had free internet access, but wired only and if you did not have a patch cable with you, you had to ask for one at the front desk... they did not have enough so I got put on a waiting list that never happened... So no internet access... Breakfast buffet was better than I expected it would be...

My Stay
Will never stay there again. Is in a good location but you can hear every car going down the street. It is an old motel and needs updated. Elevator and the lobby smelled, the stuff I got from the continental breakfast was old and stale. Went in the breakfast room that evening to get a fork and they had already put out the breakfast stuff and covered it with plastic wrap so that told me why it tasted old. The maids and supervisor just walks in your room even when you tell them to wait a minute. Having to pay $10 a day for parking isnt worth it cause i stood there once for 5 minutes before i seen a valet guy. Having to get someone to get your car every time you want to leave really gets old. The price for the room was way to much for an old motel and the service you get there. Wont be back

Hit and Miss
Parking at this hotel is a fiasco, I don't recommend if you are in a hurry. While the room was clean and comfortable, the noise level coming from the outside is unacceptable.

Not staying in future
Mold in shower. Insect bit me in night. Not very clean. Not friendly front desk staff. Good location but not staying here again. We did not get the service for the money we paid ($123 + tax + parking fee.

Longest check in ever...
The valet staff was very friendly and efficient. However, the hotel manager [...]had us wait for over 30 minutes and would not help the check in clerk. We had a question and he was a new employee, she was on the phone over 30 minutes with another co- worker. She was standing at the front desk looking away from us and would not put the call on hold to help us. We finally walked away before we missed our dinner reservations, and never had our questions answered.

Overnight stay
I found it very hard to find --no big sign and is kind of hidden. Only parking is valet. Room doors are outside so didn't feel as safe solo. room was ok for just over night and staff friendly but room seemed really small and it was noisy. Only those little square pillows and not comfy at all. For another $20.00 I could have felt safer and nicer. I didn't eat there.

weekend away
Very noisy, could hear all the street noise. Room was in process of remodeling, toilet rocked and leaked, sink faucet was not stable. Bathroom door unpainted. Location was good for what we needed. Beds were good. Didn't like having to go outside to get to room on the fifth floor.

Felt more like a motel
I can't say enough nice things about the staff. They were very accommodating and helpful. The Hotel itself was fairly dated. Small bathrooms and rooms for the most part. The worst part was once inside you had to go back outside to a breezeway in order to get to your room. Kind of sucks in the winter. But for the price it's really not that bad. Next time though we will pay another hundred dollars for a better place.
