Awful, way too noisy

This hotel was okay until nightfall---the rooms open up to outside, and the walls are paper thin. We heard EVERYTHING that went on outside our room and there was plenty--we didn't sleep at all and management was very unsympathetic and unresponsive. Won't be staying here again, despite the good price and great location. Free breakfast was pretty good though, and the parking is free too, still doesn't make up for the rest.

Nice surprise!

When I first saw the hotel, I was afraid that I had made a mistake in booking it. It is an old hotel, but is in an excellent location. The rooms are small, but nicely furnished and clean. Pros: high speed internet, complimentary valet parking, a nice continental breakfast and excellent staff, located two blocks from the Convention Center. Cons: the doors to the rooms are all accessed from an outside corridor, not from an indoor hallway.

Great Location to downtown activities

Friendly staff and free parking. Breakfast was also fine. However, lobby, elevator corridors and rooms should be renovated.

Horrible!!!

The Best Western Downtown Convention Center was a disaster! They let someone in my room who said they knew me and did not! The result of this was a broken window and a $600 bill for!! How the window was broke nobody could tell me! My girlfriend was in the restroom in the lobby and I was talking to the gentlemen at the front desk when he got the phone call that the window was broke and the girl was gone!! So thanks alot Best Western, I know now that anybody can get in my room and you will do nothing about handling the situation other than handing the check out for the damages allowed by no other than yourselves!! I would HIGHLY recommend NOT staying here!!!

Singin the Blues at Best Weste Nashville

Great and helpful staff, valet parking, close to everthing downtown. HOWEVER, Bigtime jackhammering in the a.m. outside our window with something huge being built across the street. But worse jackhammering when we asked if we could cut short our stay from 4 nights to 3. [...] We were left vibrating like Jack Hammered Looney Tunes characters walking out the door after a barrage of NO's from the manager even though the clerk told us the night before that the same room we got at a good price is currently twice the price for anyone booking or walking in this week due to a current convention in town. We thought we could have a win-win conversation and outcome as we gave up the lower priced room to the benefit of the hotel that could then double their money. Since we completed our business trip we could win by getting on the road early and get back to our families some 13 hours drive away. The complaint is- Best West should hire someone with some tact and bit more business acumen since they are at the helm of that ship and I think we were run aground needlessly. If you go- Be a good customer and don't ask for anything unless you want to buy another night! If you like to fight, we highly recommend this hotel.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

If you like beautiful artsy wool hats, scarves, endless accessories go to the Scarlet Begonia at 2805 West End Ave. To get a big, big smile and great gift wrapping from the girls who work there tell them the guy who left them with a turtle and frog finger puppets from PA sent you. That simile alone is worth the trip.(Ask them about Hog Heaven too)

Good Price, good location

Have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. Room average, but not in it much, usually on Broadway and 2nd Street doing the night life scene. Close enough to walk with no difficulty (to night life). Some hotels are closer but for the price I can walk a little further. Usually riding a motorcycle. Love that they have onsite covered parking. Good complimentary breakfast. Layout not great, they have plenty of space just not set out to keep an even flow of people. Air conditions could work better. Has a sensor on it so it doesn't matter how high you set it, it only gets so cool.

Great for vacation

We were on a 5 day vacation to Nashville and from our arrival at the hotel until we left was perfect. The people were so helpful, the breakfast was just delicious, and the town was fantastic. The people at the hotel were so very helpful. If we needed a cab it was gotten immediately. Can't say enough about the Best Western downtown Nashville. Just great!!!!
