Good, economical choice.
The Sleep Inn was a good, economical choice. There are no luxuries, but the room was clean, the front desk was friendly, the location was fantastic, and the price was right.

Compact room in Memphis' quiet center
The room style is compact, with a shower enclosure cleverly disguised as a large pillar at the side of the room entrance. As befits a room in the middle of the price range, everything is clean and free of odd smells. The breakfast area off the hotel lobby was too small for the late crowd (near the 9 AM cutoff) and the food selection was limited, so we skipped the free continental breakfast. The staff was responsive and polite. They were able to attend to our needs and answer questions about the area. The hotel is quite satisfactory for anyone who needs to stay in a downtown location.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Try the A&R Bar-B-Que about two blocks straight east from the hotel for some good quality Memphis barbeque. Also take some time to ride the 1920s era electric trolley car which runs by the hotel every few minutes. It is a dollar (50 cents during lunch hour) well spent.

Perfectly acceptable
The hotel is perfectly acceptable for business travel, but nothing special. Clean well appointed rooms, although on the small side. Most of the staff is friendly, but not all. Breakfast is perfectly adequate, but nothing special either. I've had better and I've had worst. I suppose the best thing I can say is that I'd stay again without a 2nd thought. The price is definitely right in downtown Memphis.

Sleep inn
I have stayed at the Sleep in a couple of times before and were very pleased, this time was different, our room was not cleaned one day, the TV was all snowy, and coffe was not resuppliedm we ordered a taxi from the front desk the night before our eary departure and one was not called. I don't know if I would stay here again

Short stay...no complaints
The hotel was a bit hard to find at first because I was expecting a huge sign right off of the street. The sign was there on the hotel front...but it was recessed a little further in. The staff was friendly and talkative for the short amount of time that I did interact with them. My room was quaint and perfect for a single traveler. The LCD TV with multiple input options coupled with free wi-fi, and all the regular amenities such as a safe, iron/ironing board, and toiletries pretty much covered all the bases. The sink seemed like an update and looked very upscale, although the sliding door to the shower and toilet wouldn't lock. The bed was firm but supportive and I had more than enough pillows. My only gripe is that the heater was kind of noisy when it operated so that did make it a bit hard to sleep. I probably could have prevented this by messing with the thermostat, but I was too lazy to get up. Overall though its a nice hotel and I would stay there again if i needed to.

Just make note that the hotel is recessed a little way back from the street. It's not too hard to find though.

Small but clean and update
Very nice hotel. I tried to contact [...]the catering manager on several occasions for 3 months and she never returned my call. We wanted to book a Christmas event.
