River Inn Memphis

Very much like a room in the French Quarter only brand new. Very quiet -- the windows actually open!! Love the library on the floor with coffee available. Very friendly, very cozy. Would stay there again.

2nd Anniversary

The River Inn of Harbor Town is an excellent place to stay in Memphis. If for nothing else, stay here for the breakfast. The River Inn was quiet, comfortable and like home. The concierge met each request made by myself or wife. Lastly, the location adjacent to the Mississippi River is also a plus. We took many photographs there. We will be going back!

Good location

Room was clean but small. No microwave and tv setup was subpar. No pay per views. Paulette's was fantastic, breakfast and service excellent there. Tugs was not anything special, had bad service. The steak was good though. Great location, romantic atmosphere. Turn down service was interesting. One truffle and one small glass of wine for two guests. There is beautiful park nearby with plenty of benches. Really good coffee. Check out cafe eclectic and the small grocery nearby. They have awesome baked goods. I would go back to this hotel in the future if the price was right.

Great Memphis Stay

Ideal for adults/couples looking for a get-away. Nicely furnished with a posh, luxurious bed. I wish I had time to eat at the hotel rooftop. Breakfast is in their restaurant, which outsiders pay handsomely for, but free for guests. Parking was easy to get and free as well. Hotel is in a very safe area. Front desk made great efforts to ensure I found Graceland. To get to Beale Street, it's easy to walk back over the bridge 10 minutes to the trolly for about a 15 minute ride to downtown. Late into the evening, would recommend a taxi to get back to the hotel.

Convenient location, personable staff, first-rate care.

We travel to Memphis frequently for leisure and to visit family. In the past we have typically used one of the chain hotels at nearby Cort Square. After seeing the reviews for this inn, we decided to try something different for an anniversary getaway. Location is very near downtown but just enough out of the way for peace and quiet. Surrounding buildings and river view add to the charm, with a small grocery nearby if needed. Pesonalized attention is evident immediately with a relaxing glass of wine at checkin, which was flawless. Breakfast is included and is definitely a big improvement over the standard buffet offerings. We already had plans for the other meals but Paulette's and Tugs look very good for any time of day. Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable, although the decor seems a little dated and musty for my taste. That said, we will definitely be back for another stay.

Fantastic place!

My wife and I had an absolutely first rate experience at this hotel. The location is fantastic on Mud Island. There are some nice shops, especially the grocery and coffee shop, a block away from the hotel. You're a short drive or cab ride to Beale Street, and most people would prefer to be a bit away from the noise there, I'd think. Request a riverside view if you can get it. The staff was fantastic. Perks include a nightly turndown service with port and truffles. Great breakfast in the restaurant is included. You can't miss with this place. Thanks to everyone at the River Inn! We had a wonderful time.

Really nice, small boutique hotel

Stayed one night in Memphis. This hotel is really nice; they give you a glass of wine when you check in! Very cozy bar. Breakfast is fantastic....included in the rate. A full breakfast served by a waiter with really fresh juice and whatever you want: bacon, eggs, grits, country ham, eggs benedict, etc. Would definitely stay there again. Short drive to downtown.

Couples trip to explore Memphis

It's a really great hotel in a great area. There isn't really a big night life, but as long as you have a car Memphis is extremely accessible. If you are staying at this Hotel and want to explore downtown Memphis without a car prepare to walk A LOT.
