possibly bearable for one night only!

The hotel was the cheapest I could find in Memphis and near to my friends house. I knew it wouldn't be good and didn't expect much. The carpet was dirty, we only got two towels for 2 people, the cleaning lady banged on the door at 9am (checkout was at noon), there were children running around at about 4pm which made it impossible to have a quick nap. The lady at the reception was nice and check in/out was very quick. I think I got what I paid for because I could see the reviews from other people but it was a convenient location, also there is a Starbucks nearby that we visited. Overall it was ok, but I wouldn't go back there nor would I recommended it but it is my fault for choosing it.

Did not like this Hotel

When we got to the hotel to check in the door card reader didn't work at the main desk which took over 20 min. Once the manager realized that both of her machines didn't work she had to let us into our room. When we went out we had to stop at the desk to have someone let us in by that time the door card reader was working. The furiture in the room was so Old and Nasty. The room needed to be Painted there were Patches in the Walls covering Holes. There were Mice Droppings in the bath room the Guest Towels were Very Frazzled. We had been a guest at this hotel maybe 7or 8yrs ago that's why I choose it the location was close to the family member we came to see. I remember it was in much much better conditions back then. The only thing I CAN SAY IS WE WILL NOT BE STAYING THERE AGAIN!!!!

STUNNING!!

The hotel was not in the city area. That was the only good thing about it. The room and carpet were dirty. It smelled heavily. There were holes in the wall and burns in the top blankets. The t.v. was the lowest possible in a cable tier.

Excellent value in Memphis East

The staff person at the check-in was very helpful and friendly. I'd stay here again if I have need to stay overnight in Memphis. It is surrounded by other hotels, but I cannot imagine any of them a re better than this one.

So so

I read on the website that the room had a microwave/fridge in it. I wasn't expecting much but came into a tiny room without a microwave/fridge. When I asked about it the front desk said I must request before hand. I asked if I could request one for the following night and the staff member let me know she didn't know where any were. The toilet leaked, we were offered another room but having to move everything would have been a pain. The beds were awful. Cheap but not sure I'd do it again.

Red Roof Dissappointment

The motel is located at an excellent location, close to restaurants and the freeway. The first thing I noticed when I went into my room was the smell. It was a muskey, rotten smell. I also noticed that the carpet had large black stains in it. About an hour after I checked in I noticed a loud motor running nearby. I then looked outside and noticed that a refrigerated tractor-trailer rig was parked in the parking lot about 50 yards from my motel room door! I called the office and asked if they were going to allow the tractor-trailer to remain in the parking lot all night long. I was told that they allow the driver to stay at the motel and park in the parking lot each week and said "sorry..." I explained to the front desk woman that it was crazy to allow a tractor trailer rig (w/ running compressor motor) to stay in the parking lot, especially since the motor could be heard in the rooms. She offered to allow me to move in another room. I then loaded everything back up and ended up moving to another room on the other side of the motel complex. I also noticed that my previously white socks were completely black on the bottoms, from the nasty dirty carpet. The room that I moved to appeared to have cleaner carpet and didn't smell as bad. The bed mattresses in both rooms were worn out and didn't provide very good support.

No Place Like Home

Wished we asked for a room on the first floor. Had a hard time with the steps. That was our fault. Normally staff has always been great in the past. This time clerk was not that friendly. Probably tired. We will always stay at the same place. We like the Cracker Barrel being close and Shoney's down the road.

functional

Hotel is convenient to the Bartlett area. The rooms and facilities serve the purpose for dollar value for a place to stay, but not as a place to enjoy and relax.

Very friendly and helpful

I like the fact that there was a variety of eating places close. Also liked that the bathroom was separate from the sink. And that there was room on the vanity for my makeup and hair items. I will stay there again next year!
