Memphis visit

It was a great weekend and the hotel nice. I was surprised by the unexpected and unexplained charges at the end. They hit me with a daily convenience fee of $10 per day plus a $16 per day fee for parking. This was not explained on reservation or checkin and should not have happened. Maybe a sign of the times with hotels in a tough economy. Watch out.

Still a Grand Old Dame!

Our room was very tastefully decorated and very very clean. It was on the small side, but that's not unusual with an older hotel. The bed was superb, and the big screen flat panel plasma tv was a nice surprise.

Texas de Brazil is right across from the main entrance, and the Autozone Park (baseball) is on an opposite corner. Beale St. too is just a short walk away... lots to do here!

Peabody Memphis

Great location, this hotel is a classic. They charge an additional $9.95 /day for "hotel fees" which is a rip off. Other than that, the stay was great. Cleaning staff needs to do some high dusting in the rooms, I had to knock down a few cobwebs high on the ceiling when I first got there. They have umbrellas and bath robes in the rooms.
