Homestead Memphis - Poplar Avenue

Had a very good experience, safe location, lots of restaurants in area. Staff was not the friendliest, but was not impolite either. Bath tub took forever to drain, but all in all was a good stay. Comfortable bed, full sized fridge and range top built in. Good cold air which was great with 90+ heat outside! Be sure and bring extra pillows there.

Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms, at a very good price.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! The bathroom was filthy with hair and blood on the toilet seat. Also, when leaving the building to get dinner, the woman working the front desk asked if I could pick her up a salad for dinner!!! WHAT?? I was appalled and found it completely inappropriate. I complained to the manager and hope they address it!

It was an alright place to stay. Lots of room & it was clean. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head after a night out, then this is a place for you.

I stayed one night in Memphis to visit family. I picked this hotel due to it's location and price. The facility is a bit worn down and is OK for the money in a minimalist sort of way. Several small anoyances during my stay: TV remote worked intermittenly, had to pay for internet access, tableware and utensils in kitchen looked like they were discarded from a garage sale and no bottle opener provided. This is an OK place to stay if price and location are your primary concerns.

I really loved the location of the Hotel. It's by great shopping areas and Restaurants. What I didn't like was the Hotel Staff wasn't so friendly I only found one staff member to be friendly and helpful and the gentleman worked the night shift, when I needed directions to Autozone he printed me out an map and directions. The morning shift when I needed help and directions she didn't try to print or guide me all she did was point to some tourist maps. The room was nicely placed, but not clean at all. The bathroom tub was dirty with little strands of hair everywhere. The kitchen was not clean was scared to touch and eat from the dishes. The phone was dusty and had a strand of hair stuck on it. The lamps was dusty. The carpet didn't look clean and the room didn't have a good smell. I'm glad I took some Lysol spray it comes in handy. For the price of this room it should have been cleaner with a nicer staff.

The hotel was average and the staff was pretty nice. I left several items in my room after I checked out and the staff held them for me until I could come pick them up!!

I did have a problem with the AC unit the first night but the Staff and Orbitz got right on it and replaced the unit the next day. After that, everything was perfect. Very Happy. Recommend it if you need a place where you can cook to save a buck or two.
