Overnight Business Trip
Location was 4 easy blocks walking distance to bars and restaurants on Beale Street for less then half the price of other hotels in the area. Overall looks of building and rooms need to be badly updated with some TLC. Room sizes are good and if you are not spending alot of time in your room the the value is good.

Disgusting...felt sick after staying only one night.
I didn't expect it to be the Marriott, but I also didn't expect my room to smell like a mixture of smoke and mold (especially after requesting a non-smoking room). Thank God, I only had to stay one night, but I still woke up with a sore throat, which I would probably attribute to the moldy, smokey room. It is a good location, but that's not nearly enough to get me back here. The only reason I stayed is because it was the only hotel in Memphis that wasn't booked. Trust me, I walked door to door to the others to see if they had rooms available.

Pretty good for the price
This is pretty much your standard Econo Lodge. It's was nice for us since we were only in town for one night. The staff was nice, when we had questions about where things were they helped us out. The nicest thing was it was close to stuff. It was a couple blocks away from Beale St. and we were able to walk to the river. The biggest problem there was the elevator. I had no actual problems with it, but it's on the street which was kind of weird and it seemed old. For the price it was really good for a night, if we had stayed for a couple days we may have stayed somewhere else.

Tired building and staff
Building is old and tired. Lots of problems were simply painted over. Two light fixtures in room did not work. Continental breakfast had stale pastry only as the food items. Staff seemed as unhappy as the building. However, location was great for Beale street eateries/bars and priced low relative to other better hotels.

Cheap choice in Memphis
we chose this hotel to save some money when visiting Memphis. We got what we expected and the hotel can serve the budget traveller's needs. The room was large but needed some work. The elevators up to the rooms are outside, not in the hotel lobby, which is not the safest arrangement. The area around the hotel didn't seem too safe or unsafe, but the elevator/entrance situation was troubling. Breakfast was marginal at best with stale bagels and muffins and coffee. The location is definitely great and is within walking distance to the sights (Beale st, civil rights museum , gus's fried chicken, the Peabody,Gibson retail, etc). Parking was self park and an extra 10 per night. Overall a good choice for a short stay.

A good deal for the location
Although inexpensive, the hotel was clean and the location was great. Just a few minutes' walk from Beale Street. Great for the budget traveler, but if you're looking for luxury (we weren't), I'd go elsewhere.

Not bad at all!
Was a little nervous when booking this hotel because of the price, but was pleasently suprised when I got there. Parking was ample in the garage and there was always an attendent. Although it was an old hotel and shows some wear and tear, it really was a pleasant stay. Because of the value I will stay here again!
