Super 8 Lebanon/Nashville Area

Failure to have coffee in the mornings is a big thing for me. Then the clothes rack fell, so our clothes were piled up. Then we had a hard time opeining the drwawers. Then the clerk tried to charge us for our prepaid room.

On arrival, we were greeted by a middle-aged man who acted and appeared to be drunken. We had a discussion about which room was mine, which was my nephew's, the connection between the two, the directions to the room etc that was as bizarre as a Keystone Cops movie reel. The rooms were frankly dirty with old food particles and accumulated grit and dirt in the carpet. The bathroom surfaces were grimy, oily nasty; so much so that the cockroaches looked kind of shy about skating on them for fear they'd be launched into the air and onto the miserable carpet or tile. I found a (relatively) clean space lying on the bed and figured What the hey, it's only a couple of nights before clicking on my computer to do some writing and answer email. That's when I learned the Internet service was a pipe dream. I went to the front desk the morning of the second day to complain and the teenager there told me I could come up and use his computer. Although it was a nice gesture, there was no way in hell I was going to enter passwords and review emails on his machine. I don't think I slept more than thirty minutes at a stretch while staying at this hotel. When I got to the place where I was contracted to write about the auto race during the day I fell asleep in my chair--that's how tired I was from the nonstop revelry at Super 8. When I got home from the 3-day, two night stay at Super 8 I literally crashed--right to bed for sleep--and woke up around Noon the next day that's how beat I was from staying at the Super 8 in Lebanon TN.

The Super 8 Motel was conviently located close to the interstate, restraunts, and gas stations. It could use some updating but as far as a place for an over night or short term stay it was satisfactory.
