For sports fans, UTs Neyland Stadium is also within 15 minutes, while Douglas Lake and some great golf courses are also within 20 minutes. Making the Smoky Mountains part of your trip? The Smokies and all the attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg—Dollywood and Ripleys Aquarium, to name a few-- are just a half hour away. Midway Stop

The front desk person was very nice. The bathroom was run down. The bed was very uncomfortable.

Good value but...

There was no elevator - I was OK with being assigned to a room on 2nd floor, but others may not. Couldn't find it because directions didn't say which way to turn as you exited the highway. It was not listed on the lodging signs as you exit the highway and there was no outside lighting. No one answered the phone when I called.

Decent place for a night or two

Check-in was quick and efficient; staff was friendly. Room was comfortable and quiet. Ice machine was a bit far away, near front desk. Check-out was efficient as well.

Uhmmmmmm

This was not a pleasant experience. We've stayed at this hotel in the past with good experiences, this stay, however, was horrible. The room we booked, upon arrival, was dirty, with pizza boxes, drinks, one bed was stripped clean, the other a mess. The desk clerks favorite word is "uhm", I know this because she must have said it 1000 times after being told of the condition of the room. After 15 minutes of "uhm's", she finally put us in a king suite. It wasn't the epitome of clean either, but at least hasn't been lived in. The night clerk literally locked us outside and reluctantly pulled himself away from his show on tv to let us in only after another guest pleaded with him to buzz us in. This place has declined in the past year. The floors look and feel like they came out of a strip club, the walls just dirty with hand prints, blood, and who knows what else. There is obviously no standard of cleanliness. On a good note, there weren't any bed bugs, but that's the only redeeming quality.

Weekend stay in Sevierville area

The Red Roof Inn at Straw Plains exit was a pleasant one for my wife and me. The front desk clerk greeted us warmly and did not even ask for a credit card for incidentals as is usually the case with pre-paid stays. The room was clean and quiet and the location was convenient to both Knoxville and Sevierville/Pigeon Forge.

Family returns home

I tried to find something bad because I had not stayed at a Red Roof for years but everything was satisfactory and the staff were great too. I will stay Red Roof more frequently now.

Red Roof Inn is back

Years ago we had a horrible experience at a Red Roof Inn and have avoided the chain until this visit. They have really improved a lot! We will keep this one in mind for a future stay and be inclined to look for others. It is not fancy, but quite good for the money. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room, but that was a minor inconvenience. The coffee at breakfast was not very good, but the rest of the breakfast was really nice. Red Roof Inn is back!

very nice newer hotel close to the interstate

Arrived extremely late, but the staff on hand was terrific despite my late arrival. The hotel was close to the interstate but there was no road noise that I could hear. Building is newer and very-well maintained. The price was very competitive. Stay was only for one night en route between destinations, but I would be quite pleased to stay if I'm in the area again.

Very nice place to stay while traveling

Very nice hotel. A little secluded. The GPS found it though. Rooms were large and spacious as well as VERY clean. The AC worked great. Lots of channels on the TV. I even hooked up a Wii U with ease so my kids could play. Shower was also very nice and clean. The indoor pool was a plus as well. The bed was firm with super clean bedding. Hot breakfast was included. Sausage, gravy, biscuits along with an assortment of cereals & fruits. For the price I honestly don't think there is better. I will happily spend the night here again when traveling through the Knoxville area.
