Just Fine

This place was just fine. A two star hotel, but by no means was there anything to complain about. Everything clean, the staff just what they should be, everything in decent repair. Not a five-star hotel, and I didn't expect it to be. I just wanted a clean, comfortable place (with an indoor pool) to spend the night with my family, and got exactly what I wanted. This is a pet friendly hotel, but did not smell bad and was not dirty. Plenty of restaurants nearby. There is a train track nearby, but the noise is not intrusive. Free internet, free coffee, continental breakfast.

Low Quality Inn

This hotel was a nightmare. We checked in around 9:50pm. We were coming down for a sports tournament, and went through an hour time change, so our boys were still awake and wanted to swim. Since we had to leave early in the morning we asked if our boys could swim for about 20 minutes if we kept them quiet. (The pool closed at 10pm). We were told that it was against their policy. Even though we were unhappy, I understand and respect someone doing their job. There was no guest laundry service at the hotel so we had to drive to a laundromat. We were also told ahead of time that they had roll-away beds available but when we got there, we were unable to get one because they were all rented out, so our 2 little guys had to sleep on the floor. Around 11:30pm when we tried to call to request more blankets no one would answer after about 20 repeated attempts. Our bathroom light took about 5 minutes to flicker on, if it would come on at all. Our comforter had a large stain on it. The swing bar lock on our door was broken and it was difficult to tell from inside if the door was locked. Then, at about 2:30 in the morning, I heard running and what sounded like people arguing and fighting. I went outside and there were a bunch of teenagers in the pool! Yes, the same pool that our six and 8 year old kids couldn't get in from 10-10:20pm! I called the front desk 3 or 4 times, and again could not get anyone to answer. The next morning, I went to the breakfast room. There were about 6 doors to get into the breakfast room from the indoor courtyard, and they all had signs saying to use the last sliding door....the last sliding door (and all the others)was locked. So instead of walking all the way around outside I knocked on the door and a young man came and opened it. After I got our breakfast, I went back to the sliding door and it was locked again. So I unlocked it and as I opened it, it came of its track. It was obviously already messed up. Why would they have signs telling you to use a broken door?? And then, when he unlocked it for me, why wouldn't he say "I'm sorry, this door is broken" or something??? By the way, the breakfast was descent but the biscuits and gravy were horrible! A true shame to the South :) So, we left that horrible hotel, thinking our troubles were over. Later that day, I got a call[...] saying the hotel wanted them to charge us $50 for a white comforter that was missing! We didn't even have a white comforter. We had two red comforters (if you could even call them that), one with a stain....and sheets...that's it! We actually went and got a quilt and a little throw blanket out of our cars. [...] I am supposed to be getting a call from their manager today, but haven't heard anything yet! I told them I look forward to her call because I have a few things to say to her about our stay :)

Good place to stay for a quick getaway

The courtyard has a roof to keep the elements from interfering with the pool. The kids enjoyed swimming after spending the day at the zoo.

Accomodations were good

We went to our daughters college graduation. It was quiet which we appreciated. The coffee in the breakfast room was so weak I went to buy coffee at the gas station a block away. We have stayed at 3 other hotels in the area. This one was the most run down. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean.

Wifi didn't work too noisy

Hotel was just okay. I was looking for cheap and close the UT stadium for the UT UA game. Hotel was well worn but passable. Two main issues were the wifi never worked the weekend I was there and I had a room inside the square and it was extremely noisy. Basically the complex is shaped like a square with middle being empty. It has a tin roof covering the pool in the center in the center of the square. The echo was excessive. The folks staying there were not necessarily loud it was just any kind of sound was amplified tremendously. I stayed when it was cold so no one was in the pool. Go during the summer and I'm sure it would be very loud.
