This location is off the strip but only by one block so it is both quiet and very accessible to everything. If you want to ... stay at the hotel and enjoy the amenities, this is not a location for you, but if you want a reasonable rate, clean room with refrig and microwavein a location that is easy to get in and out of, this is a great place. It is not our first time to stay here and will not be our last.

The hotel is really spacious and the rooms are great for kids and such. The only complaint I have is that the rooms were not ... cleaned daily. Sure they made the beds and changed the towels. But they didnt vaccum the carpets or other stuff. Our phone wasnt working (missing the cord) when I told the maintenance man he seemed irratated that I was telling him. And he did appear to be the real creepy type as well. One morning I was carrying a tray of breakfast (breakfast is great too!)in elevator and he was on it. He didnt hold the door or ask what floor to push button for me. Matter of fact he didnt say anything.Other than that it really is a great place for family to stay!

Decent place to stay
Thanksgining traveler Nov 30, 2009
The hotel is nicely situtated to Gatlinburg, just a short walk to the stores. The toilet never did flush right and one night ... the family from hell was next door making noise up til midnight. They were banging on walls, yelling, and bouncing on the furniture. After a call to desk management they settled down. The breakfast is so-so, warm bisuits and gravy, pasteries, etc. However there are great pancake houses close by to make up for it. There is one negative concerning traffic. A left turn out of teh hotel is difficult in heavy traffic times as there is no light and no median to stop in. Still we enjoyed the stay and the room was clean. One other note, was checking in Thanksgiving night and there was minimal staff, one girl. However her boyfriend was behind the counter playing a computer game and cussing, not very professional.

Bad Beds
Emma Nov 30, 2009
Good location. Short walk to the action but far enough to be quite and restful location. Large rooms, but like most of the ... area hotels, needs updating. Unfortunately, the beds were terrible. Hard and could feel the springs. The first night we hardly slept. After, we were so tired from all the activity, it did not matter, we slept.

Senior Citizen Nov 10, 2009
We arrived late and felt a little uneasy as there didn't appear to be any type security. We were traveling with senior ... citizens and they didn't feel too secure at first. However the rooms were nice, clean, quiet, very affordable and spacious. The fireplace was a nice touch. We would stay again. We were also able to by-pass the Gatlinburg traffic by taking the By-Pass and take the trolley into Gatlinburg which worked fabulous.

The hotel felt old, but was clean and close to the shops, though not really within walking distance, unless you like to walk. ... But it was off the street and away from the noise, which was nice. Parking was a little tight. Rooms were a nice size and liked having a balcony. Overall, a nice place to stay for a day or two.

Except for the hotel and some restaurants, there was no parking on the Gatlinburg "strip" unless you used a pay parking lot. I would still rather stay at Wildwood Inn than have a hotel room on the strip.

I have been to Cades Cove three times and unless one is going to be there for a week I would not recommend this tour. It is bumper to bumper traffic all day It will use up a full day.
--pumkin, Hendersonville, Tn. Sep 8, 2009
We made use of the trolley while we were there. It was a short walk to the stop. We walked downtown and when we were tired and ready to go to our room we just jumped on a trolley and took a restful ride back to the motel. The trolley was also great for the older members of our family.
--Anma, Liberty, SC Sep 8, 2009
The hotel is at a flashing caution light, not a stoplight. While it brags about close proximity to shopping, aquarium etc., if you are not in the greatest of shape, drive. We packed a plug in for the room "staleness";it worked great. We enjoyed the free breakfast (bear shaped waffles and biscuits and gravy). The staff was friendly and the grounds were very neat. For the price we would encourage others to try!

For a fast cheap meal or snack, check the BP station across the street. Delicious, fresh 2 foot long sub sandwich for $4. We dined at several local restaurants that were excellent, but the sub was the one thing that really stood out for the price.
