Basics, great location
Not much by way of the amenities, it's very basic with even no bathroom shampoo or lotion, just soap. The location is the real winner here, right off the main track of gatoinburg and ten minutes drive to the smoky mountains national park. Nothing to write home about, but it serves the purpose of basic, clean, amenities, no frills.

Rocky Top Village Inn
Only good thing about hotel is its location otherwise amenities are all from the 1970's many of them are not working. It seems all are there for the sake of name.In bathroom you can either get hot water or Cold water,if you want to adjust the degree of hotness by mixing both then it is not possible.Bedsheets, comforters mattresses all were old and it will be hard to spend night. Its a complete waste of money. Moreover, during checkin person asked me to write my full credit card number on form, bit strange but I was never asked to do so earlier.I will not recomend it to anyone.WORST EXPERIENCE

Good hotel
Overall a good experience. The hotel is located close to major attractions and we could easily walk to the places. Hotel amenties are outdated like for example the TV was probably a 1970's TV. Since we stayed for a night only, we did not bother much about them. The room was neat and clean. Was happy that I could park my car right in front of my room.

Weekend Trip
Though the hotel's furnishings were very outdated my room appeared to be fairly clean. The hotel staff were wonderful and gave me a partial refund when the hot water in our room did not work. The internet worked just fine for me. I did not have a horrible experience but I have found better hotels with the same rates in Gatlinburg.

Hotel prices in Gatlinburg are exorbitant
My wife and I and another couple were looking for something to just spend the night. This is probably the cheapest option for a 2 star hotel, with a review rating of over 3. Have you seen "My name is Earl"? The motel looks like the one that Earl lives in. It is not bad, but it what it is. The door of your room opens into the porch which overlooks the pool. The establishment is old and looks and smells old. I would probably stay here again if I'm looking for cheapest option in town, but for $10 more I think better hotels can be found.

Clean place to sleep (no more, no less)
Little things were annoying, like they didn't give me any shampoo automatically, and the flatscreen TV was small and mounted high up, and looking up at it, the image looked terrible--it only looked okay if I was standing up, which is not how I would want to watch TV. They did have free Krispy Kreme donuts, so they have that going for them, but if you want a donut I suggest walking down to the Donut Friar. The location was great. Quick drives get you to wonderful trials, and you can walk from the hotel to anywhere in Downtown Gatlinburg you might want to go.

Yummy yummy Donut Friar is just a quick walk from this hotel. They open at 5 am, earlier than just about anyone else, and I really liked their coffee as well as their donuts, and I am a snob about both (donuts must be very good to compensate for their calories).

Fun in the Smokies!
Rocky Top Village Inn may be a tad outdated, but the service was fantastic! The staff was incredible nice and helpful. The location was awesome, a few minute walk and you are in the heart of downtown Gatilnburg. Our last night there the room above us toilet over flowed. The staff was so nice and helpful in moving us and cleaning up the room. They upgraded our room and gave us tickets to the aquarium for our troubles. We would definitely stay at the Rocky Top Village Inn again!

Great for price!!
The hotel room was clean, but the whole place could really use updating, doesn't seem touched up since 70's. Great location right were the action is. 5 min walk to the strip and space-needle. All and all if you want to go to Gatlinburg and want a nice enough room for a great price this place will work.
