A Pleasant Stay!
mblanc Nov 30, 2009
We had a nice stay at this hotel. It was nice and quiet. The ladies at the front desk were nice and helpful. When we checked ... in I asked if we could have a room w/a view of the mountains and the lady at the front desk checked and said she could help us w/that. She also warned us of the having to go upstairs & no elevators in this section (wasn't a problem for us) The location is right in the middle of everything. I would recommend this hotel. It's not a new hotel but it's clean. We have stayed in other hotels in the area and I have to say the thing we did miss was not having breakfast included.

Also, this hotel is close and you can walk to different restaurants. This is very important because parking is not too available in this area.

The worst thing about this room were the plastic VERTICAL MINI BLINDS...over the entrance door and the big window in the ... room...so it was very difficult to open the door to the room...when you left you had to leave them open...anyone could see inside the room...and if you tried to leave them closed you knocked off some blinds...I can't tell you how many times my husband was putting them back on...not to mention you felt like you could see thru them...

Great location, average room
Beamer Oct 8, 2009
We booked a king bed, but got a 2-queen bed on check-in in a ground-floor room that had a strong pet odor. After inquiring ... at the desk we received apologies and a king room. The room was plain and dated, though it had a microwave and refrigerator. Our new room was on the third floor with a nice view of Gatlinburg and the mountains. The hotel has a persistent bear they have named George who visits almost daily, in the evening. He's pretty fearless and walks around the property looking for anything worthwhile. There is free wireless if you are willing to sit on the sofa outside the executive office suite. The great location makes up for the lesser quality room. Downtown Gatlinburg is right across the bridge, with everything you need within walking distance.

Nice downtown hotel
MollyKay1015 Sep 28, 2009
I really enjoyed the location of River Terrace. It is right smack in the middle of downtown but still quiet and relaxing. My ... only complaints are: 1: They didn't have my reservation correct, we were given 2 queens instead of a king, which they corrected when I called 2: The building we were in was on a terribly steep hill making it hard to get up and down from the room to the street (if you are asthmatic like me I suggest you NOT stay in building 5) and finally 3: The food in the restaurant was not good at all. However, the happy hour in the Duck Blind bar was FABULOUS! They had live music, a nice bartender and the prices were awesome. All in all I would stay here again.

This is the second time we have stayed at River Terrace. It is our favorite place to stay. It is located right in the ... center of everything. We can walk all over Gatlinburg and never have to drive anywhere. When we come back, we plan on staying here if there is a room available. It is a very clean, very friendly, and very peaceful place to stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that asks.

We stayed just one night this visit, but had previously stayed at the River Terrace Hotel and will stay again. The location ... is great - just across the street from downtown Gatlinburg activities. Hotel staff were very helpful. Rooms spacious and clean, nothing fancy but perfect for what we wanted. Love the balconies and the view!

We were on our honeymoon. The location was great and our stay was very enjoyable. We really enjoyed the balcony at night as ... we could see alot of downtown Gatlinburg from there. The bed was so comfortable which is something that is hard to find in a hotel. We have no complaints to say about this hotel.

This hotel is next to the Ripley's Aquarium. It also is right behind the main strip of downtown Gatlinburg. You can walk straight to the mall from a back walkway and are right in the middle of all the action! GREAT LOCATION!!!

Room was nice. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Price was good. However, the tap water was brown. We melted ice with ... the blow dryer for water to brush our teeth. If we had brought bottled water, it would have been fine. For this location, an indoor pool really should be expected.

Nice Hotel
HarleyMan Sep 11, 2009
Oribitz did not send the reservation information to the hotel as was supposed to. The hotel desk clerk called Orbitz ... immediately and took care of the situation. They even upgraded us to a suite with a whirlpool tub, fire place, and upstairs with a king bed. Hotel was near most everything in Gatlinburg and had a stream that was far enough away from the main strip to be pretty quiet. Would stay here again.

We upgraded to a Villa Room. The room was spotless and updated. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spaceous. We ... loved sitting on the balcony during the evening and listen to the bubbling creek below. We had a wonderful view of the mountains. The hotel is located within a short walk to all the great attractions, shopping and restaurants on the Parkway! We ate breakfast in the restaurant on the property. Breakfast was average but affordable and the service was friendly.
