very good

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location was perfect and not too far away from anything. The staff was very helpful and nice. And the price wasn't too bad either. The only thing that wasn't really up to par was the pool. It was sorta dirty and had a weird smell but other than that my stay was wonderful.

Still needs some work

The hotel room was clean but the mattresses were well slept in and needed turned or replaced. The lighting was very poor. Our balcony view was of another hotel that was either condemned or empty and in need of serious repairs. The TV was from the 1980s. The breakfast was very minimal and I couldn't even get my children to eat. The arcade room was not functional. Almost all (approximately 8 or 10) machines were out of order during our stay. My younger children liked the pool and hot tubs which is the only reason we continued to stay there beyond the first night. I would definitely prefer to stay in another hotel in the future.

The "Over nighter"

Loved the swimming accommodations; had previously stayed there before. Hotel only had one working elevator, which did put a damper on things are far as getting out. Breakfast was pretty good, although I never saw any fruit.

nice room

Walking distance to all food and attractions. They are still upgrading the hotel with remodling, so maybe the elevators will be working soon. during my stay only one was up and running which made for a very long wait.

Location, location, location!

This was our second year staying at the Edgewater Hotel. The boys wanted to come back. Lots to do with kids in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Hotel is perfectly located to walk to just about anywhere in Gatlinburg. Easy drive to Pigeon Forge. Kids especially liked WonderWorks this year. Last year they loved all of the Ripley's attractions. They also spent a lot of time playing with other kids at the hotel pool in the evenings. Pool is open until 11 pm.

Clean and convienent!

We chose this hotel for their location and price. It was very clean and right on the main strip in Gatlinburg, but removed enough to be peaceful. We had a balcony overlooking the creek and pleanty of room for 2 adults and 1 child. The continental breakfast offered was pittiful and not as advertised with donuts cut in half and creamer that was sour and fruit that had gone bad already. I would be embarrassed to serve the breakfast that they served! We had hoped to save money on at least one meal.

Multi-million dollar makeover incomplete

The multimillion dollar makeover needs to continue to the pool area and fitness center. Also the continental breakfast could use some help--little selection or nutrition. The restaurant could use some updating and cleaning. The current chairs are filthy. The crowded elevators were a nuisance. And most importantly fire protection seemed questionable.

Nice hotel still has some problems

I stayed for three nights with my boyfriend. We ate at the hotel everyday for breakfast. They offer the usual free breakfast items: coffee, juice, donuts( 3 kinds), muffin, pancakes, apples, biscuts and gravy, and cherrios type cereal. If you do not enjoy those things for breakfast in the same location and at the same time you can pay for other items such as eggs, meats, french toast. The usual food at a breakfast place. The hotel also serves a full menu for dinner. I didn't eat the paid breakfast or dinner there. However, the menu looked like they have a good variety. The rooms were recently remodeled. The rooms were a bit on the small side. The bathroom to me was small. There was little room to walk around between the tub, toliet and sink area. Each room had a microwave and fridge that was nice. Each room had a small balcony that had 2 metal chairs and a small table. There were a few things that I wish the hotel had fixed in their remodel. First, the hotel itself is designed so that there are 2 levels of parking on the first 2 "floors" then on the 3rd floor is the lobby. Then another floor is game/ pool/ exercise room. Then floors 4-8 have guest rooms. To get to your hotel room you had to take the elevator or walk up stairs that were on the opposite ends of the hotel. Secondly, there are 2 elevators for the whole hotel. So it took a while to get to some places sometimes. A tip of advice if you can get an elevator get on it even if it is going the opposite direction of where you want. It will save time that way. Thirdly, the hotel pool was badly designed. There is a rock them at the pool that takes up a good 20 feet of the wall that could have been used to make the pool larger instead of adding decor. There were a lot of families in the pool area so the design of the pool made it hard to get away from children. There is an outside "swim through" pool that is nice. Also, there are 2 hot tubs that are ok. Some of the jets didn't work like they should. It was a good hotel with an excellent location in downtown Gatlinburg. It is away from the main "strip" yet close enough that everything is with in walking or trolley distance. There are trolleys that you can take to go everywhere from the mountains, to Dollyword to the strip. I would stay there again if I had the chance. I couldn't bet the price, location and amenties.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

The hotel is within walking distance of nearly everything in downtown Gatlinburg. We never used the car when we walked around the town.
