Do not stay here if you like cleanlieness
I stayed in this hotel over Memorial Day weekend, so I probably paid a bit more than it usually costs; however, for any price this hotel is not worth your money. The hotel is old, smelly, and filthy. On paper, everything sounds nice--a fireplace (that they won't let you use 6 months out of the year), a balcony, pool, breakfast, etc. However, these "amenities" are nothing like they sound. The pool is a petri dish of bacteria and probably isn't cleaned more than once a year, the balconies have chairs that look to be 25 years old, and our king size bed was on a old wood platform with a queen size headboard. The carpet was filthy and was not vacuumed before we came (I literally wanted to wear shoes in the room my entire stay). I actually had to request for the room to be vacuumed after 2 days passed and it was clearly never done when they "cleaned" our room daily. The tile in the bathroom was filthy, and if you looked closely, every corner and wall in the room had dirt and grime up against it. The wi-fi was spotty at best, and the tv remote didn't work for half our stay. The owner was unapologetic and borderline rude to guests if they had a need that needed to be addressed. The breakfast every morning was glazed donuts, coffee, watered down juice, one kind of cereal, muffins and nasty biscuits with gravy that was in a grimy crockpot. The gravy was literally made with the 25 cent powder you buy at the store and add water...there was no sausage. There was a waffle iron, and no butter and no non stick spray, so you had a waffle that came off in 10 pieces by the time you were done. When guests asked for butter or spray (or anything else for that matter), the owner wouldn't even look at them and would just say she didn't have any. She never apologized and obviously didn't care, because we stayed for four nights and she remedied the problem. DO NOT confuse this hotel with the Days Inn and Suites which is in a nice location on the other end of the parkway. I think a lot of the positive reviews for this hotel are getting mixed up with the Days Inn on the other end of the parkway (which would explain why there are even positive ones). This hotel is discusting and the owner has no pride of ownership, nor does she care about whether or not guests are happy with their stay. Overall, it was gross, and quite unpleasant. My husband and I are very easy to please, and this place was the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

Go to the Smoky Mountain Brewery on the parkway. It's about a 20 minute walk from this hotel. We loved it, and it has a nice atmosphere

Long Weekend
We arrived at the Hotel on Thursday. Went up to the room and the air conditioning didn't work. They assigned us a new room. The AC worked in the new room but some kid had taken magic marker to the chair cushons and one of the walls. I was flabergasted they would put someine in a room like this. Front desk said they were full. The whole property is showing age. The inside and outside are in dire need of paint. There are other items that need attention outside as well. The sheets had holes in them. I can't recommend this place and will never stay again.

Not too bad
We were in Gatlinburg for just a weekend. We stayed in a room with a wood burning fireplace. That was a nice touch. The bed was sad. It was like sleeping on a brick. It was a pretty long walk to get to the center of Gatlinburg. If you are planning on driving everywhere, not a bad location.

There is free parking if you eat at Callhouns, which is around traffic light #9 as long as you have a receipt from that restaurant.

Great river view and family getaway
This hotel had a nice and spacious room furnished with a refrigerator and microwave oven. Comfortable and clean room with good heating. Did not feel squeeze with 4 people on 2 queen beds. Great distance from the national park.
