Staff not equal to the Great Location
Tired traveller Dec 17, 2009
Location was very beautiful Winter in Smokey Mountains. Staff made me feel as if I was a College student entering their hotel ... on Spring Break, with emphasis on what I could not do and what I "had" to do prior to check out. WIFI service would be $6.95 per day, however, if I wanted to use the "ONE" PC station in the lobby, however, any use was limited to 20 Minutes ...... not the quality of services I expect as a mature business executive........

The accomodations were very nice. However if you are arriving on a holiday the registration office and ALL ammenities will ... be closed. We did not know this prior to arrival. Nice condo, nice bathroom, and fireplace. TV's are very small but does come w/ a DVD player and IPOD player/charger. You must dispose of your own trash and load the dishwasher but overall we would stay again. Also you will need to stop in Gatlinburg to purchase supplies, it's 10 miles to the resort from town.

[...] Bent Creek staff was friendly and helpful. You can't walk to downtown Gatlinburg from the resort, but that was fine ... with me. You get some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist district. With the full kitchen and a full service grocery store a few miles down the road, we had breakfast in and sometimes packed a lunch for the road. We spent several days touring the GSM National Park and went to Dollywood twice. Season passes for Dollywood worked out for us because we couldn't see it all in one day with the number of live shows offered. Zip lines were a blast too! The amenities at Bent Creek included full kitchen, dining area, living room with sofa, chair, tables, TV and VCR/DVD combo. Can't forget the gas fire place! The bedroom had a TV and stereo system. The large bath had a shower and deep jacuzzi style bathtub. There was no housekeeping, but that was ok because each unit has a stacked washer/dryer unit in a closet. We had a few rainy days and never had the opportunity to golf, but we found plenty to do and see in the area. We are very pleased with our stay at Bent Creek and the great price was a bonus!

Great stay
Millie & Sadie's Mom Oct 19, 2009
We had a great stay here for 5 days. It is about a 10 minute drive outside of Gatlinburg, but worth it if you like the ... quiet. The room had full kitchen and washer/dryer which was useful with all the rain and mud we had to deal with in the park. The staff was wonderful and sent someone over right away when we had some HVAC issues. We were able to ask advice on how to get around Gatlinburg to avoid the traffic and other ways into the park. The room was a good size for two people, but might be crowded with any more than three or four. The kitchen was great for us to save money and not buy lunch and dinner in Gatlinburg. If you want to stay close to the action, this is not the place. But for a quiet retreat or if you don't mind the drive, please stay here. There is a free trolley parking lot at the post office that is much more useful than trying to find parking. Overall, great stay and would stay again.

If you like to hike, go on the Porter's Creek Trail in Greenbrier. The entrance to the park is a quick drive down the road and you don't have to go into Gatlinburg. There were only a few other hikers there, but very lovely waterfalls and the hike was pretty moderate for beginners.

The hotel was great, plus we got a good deal. It was a little further out of town but was definitely worth it. The staff ... was friendly and the grounds were great. My husband would liked to have golfed but we didn't have enough time. We spent some time hiking in the smoky mountains and actually saw a bear on the road. I was glad we were in the car. We also attended the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge. The kids really enjoyed it. Ripley's aquarium was neat, the kids liked looking at the sharks swimming overhead. We also did the Ripley's museum and moving theater those weren't worth the money. I would not do those again. I guess I should have checked more reviews on them.

A great place to stay
Father of 2, Husband of 1 Aug 18, 2009
My wife and I wanted to go on vacation to Gatlinburg and ran across this place on Orbitz. After reading all of the good ... reviews, we decided to book at Bent Creek. We were very glad that we did. Although the little condo we stayed in was a little small, it definitely was worth the price that we paid (we got it for about half price b/c we stayed during the week and used Orbitz). It was great having a full-size fridge, sink with garbage disposal, microwave, stove, etc. It was a great place to stay. The room was nice and clean when we got there and very up-to-date. It was definitely better than staying in a one-room hotel with a couple of beds. Because the living room and the bedroom were separate, we could sit and watch TV while the kids took naps on the bed although we'd end up taking naps ourselves. It was a great place to stay and we plan on going back. Take note that this condo is about 20 minutes from anything; it takes 20 min. to get to Gatlinburg and 20 min. from Pigeon Forge. It doesn't seem like a 20 min. drive, but our smallest child (2 months old at the time) didn't like to have to ride that long to go anywhere. There are no places (that we found) to eat within a 5-10 min. drive, unlike staying downtown somewhere. The person behind the front desk will give you a map to guide you through the back roads to get Pigeon Forge and Sevierville so you don't have to travel through the Gatlinburg traffic to get to the other. This was very helpful. It's good if you buy snack food and drinks to keep at the hotel which we were grateful that we did b/c there's no place to buy fast food that's close. They do have room service which is relatively cheap, but I think they only do lunch. Another thing to keep in mind is check-out time, which is 10:00am. This is a little earlier than the common 12:00/1:00 checkout time. If you have kids, make sure you plan ahead for this so you don't get charged any additional fees. With all of this said, we will probably stay there again if we make it back to Gatlinburg because it was such a nice place, especially considering the price. The pools were nice and clean as was the hot tub. The pools are not the kinds you could do laps in, but there's room for the kids to play after a long day, so they served their purpose. The workout room/gym looked pretty nice too, but I didn't go in. I also did not play any golf, so I can't really say anything about the course. I think that all of the rooms are non-smoking which was a plus! Another feature that we didn't use was a little gazebo in which several gas grills were set up. We didn't grill out, but we may next time. In conclusion, we will definitely be heading back to Bent Creek again. It was a very positive experience and I look forward to visiting again.

The stay at Bent Creek was everything we hoped for and more. Great location only 10 minutes from Gatlinburg but far enough ... away to feel like you have the mountains all to yourself. The staff was polite and very friendly. The room was great. We stayed in a standard 1 bedroom condo with our son and had plenty of room. It was nice to have a fully equipped kitchen we made breakfast there everyday. The golf course is just OK. I would recommend Bent Creek to anyone who is staying in or around Gatlinburg.

I thought the hotel was really great, expecially for the price we got through Orbitz.com. The rooms were amazing, much better ... than what you would expect from viewing the pictures on the website. We had both a screened porch and a balcony, jacuzzi, fireplace, Ipod stereo, dvd player, internet access and fully equipped kitchen. The resort was nice as well. There was a playground, gym, good-sized swimming pool, hot tub and indoor pool. There was a game room but only 2 games worked. The resort was well kept and the staff was friendly. My complaints would be that they charge extra for daily maid service, the maintenance crew always seemed to be mowing, weed-wacking or leaf blowing around the pool at the busiest times of the day and you sometimes couldn't even hold a conversation. All in all, I would definetly go back!
