Gatlinburg hotel surrounded by streams in the center of the town
The Best Western Twin Islands is located in the center of Gatlinburg within walking distance to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies and many restaurants and shops. Streams surround the hotel, and all the rooms have balconies overlooking the water. A large playground and heated, seasonal outdoor pool attract families. Guests can even fish on the property. Great location
We stayed at this motel mostly because it in town and kept driving anywhere to a minimum. Our room was clean with daily service. I especially like the stream running outside the room where you can go fishing if you like but the fish are small. There are a nice pool and play center where the family can relax. Overall a nice stay.

The hotel needs new carpet, our room's carpet was all stain. The water view was not so good we had to look at the back of stores, where they put their garage.The breakfast was good, everytime we left the hotel we wouldn't have a parking space when we returned. There was a hot rod show in the next town and the traffice was backed up for 4 miles.

Not a hotel we would stay in again
Staff was very friendly. Room very dated. Could not access the guide on the TV. The remote for TV was not one you could access what was on the TV, like the guide. Breakfast was ok. We were right on the roaring water. But the room needs alot of updating. Sheets were clean. This is a hotel we will never stay in again. Not worth the money we spent on it. Think before you book this, if you want a place just to go to sleep for one nite that might be okay but not an extended stay.

Disappointed
Booked a room with a river view and a fireplace, got neither. Nothing nice about the room other than the layout. hoping for a romamtic trip.... Room was a complete turn OFF!!!! Never again!

Great Romantic Trip!
Warm and friendly staff at the front desk. Room was nice sized, Jacuzzi tub awesome, and the bed was nice and comfortable. Very convenient and easy walk to all activities. The only minus was that the hotel needed some updating.

excellent
the room was a bit older, but was extremely clean. had a working fireplace and a huge 2 and a half person jetted tub in a room all itself. Had a full bathroom and then a little dressing area that also had a sink. Additionally there was frigerator, microwave and coffee machine. it was on the main floor right on the Little Pigeon River. All within a short walking distance to everything Gatlinburg. We would definitely stay there again checking in and out was effortless.

Wonderful anniversary getaway
Our room was wonderful!! It was very large, the bed was very comfortable, it was extremely clean, and we loved the balcony overlooking the Pigeon River. We had never been to Gatlinburg before. We loved the Smoky Mountain National Park, but Gatlinburg was way too commercial for us. We really enjoyed hiking on one of the trails off of the Motor Loop. One of our evening meals was at the Trout House. Excellent food!! Breakfast at the Atrium Restaurant was really good too! The hotel was in perfect walking distance to alot of attractions and the downtown strip. Trust me, you do NOT want to do much driving downtown!!

Great Location
This is one of the older properties in Gatlinburg. The buildings are worn and tired - door doesn't seal, "desk" is a tiny table, etc. But Best Western has at least attempted to make the rooms comfortable. Decent bed, flat-screen tv, and reasonably clean. What you get here is a great location, right next to the Aquarium of the Smokies and an easy walk to all the downtown attractions and restaurants. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Free continental breakfast is typical Best Western - meaning not much. But for the price, it's a decent place. And hey, it has a gas fireplace!

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. Don't let the Ripley's name keep you away. This is a very well-done aquarium, and well worth the $25 admission.
