Being here four days gave us a chance to know this facility and this is a near perfect motel. Very clean and attractive. Staff people are helpful and delightful. The beds are the best in the motel industry and ditto for the breakfasts, which were
almost too good. Temperature is controlled by a modern on-the-wall thermostat and quiet fans. The flat screen TV set would swivel 45 degrees, although no guide to the TV channels was provided. We were placed in a handicap room and while the shower was very good and the guard rails were well positioned, it was difficult to get into the shower/tub area. With a better tub arrangement and a little more bathroom counter space, this motel would receive a BEST EVER rating.
I regularly seek out Hampton Inn's throughout my region of the country and have never been disappointed until now.
The bathroom shower had such low water pressure that the shower head (a waterpik shower massage type with different settings)
basically wouldn't work. It took forever to rinse. This was very frustrating and annoying. I talked to front desk and they indicated that they have a water pressure problem up on the hill that the hotel sits on and they didn't think that moving to a new room would necessarily be any better so I didn't try another room.
I also told them about the shower curtain being so short that it was really hard to keep it inside the tub during the shower resulting in water getting all over the bathroom floor. They didn't seem interested in helping with that problem.
I will say that even though the staff couldn't help me they were very nice.
For breakfast, the apple juice wasn't good. I'm not sure if it was out of date or just a poor brand. It didn't taste very sweet at all. And the "robust" coffee was just barely drinkable. I have always enjoyed Hampton Inn coffee. Our second morning I went to the Shoney's restaurant next door and paid for breakfast instead of eating the free one at the Hampton.
The pillows on the bed were too large and firm. I couldn't get my head to lie flat and I swear I'm not making this up...woke up with the worst crick in my neck that I've ever had. Hampton Inn beds and pillows are always the best but not this time.
The room was very clean.
This was a great stay. The staff was friendly, everything easy clean, and it was in a great location. The only problem I had was that the pillows were so uncomfortable that I didn't sleep very well at night. Usually take my own pillows when I
travel but it was one of those "oops I forgot" items on in this trip.
