Quality of hotel needs to improve
The hotel is very old and needs maintenance. Upon arrival we were greeted with the best attitude by Timmy, he was very helpful and very friendly. However, once we got to our room, our bed was not fully made, the pillows were missing its pillowcases, I was afraid the cleaning crew didn't really clean from prior guest. Once we got to the pool, it did not look as well maintained as the pictures, pool looked very dirty and waterfalls were not on. We ordered room service and the food was good and the service was quick. Although the staff was great and compensated us with Starbucks credit, I would only stay at this hotel if it was absolutely necessary.

Great Old Hotel With Great Location
Valet your car and walk anywhere you need to go. The hotel is on the "strip" youre only a few blocks from everything and if you want to venture out a little further there is an electric shuttle that will bus you around the city for free. The hotel is very clean with beautiful details, The hot tub was permanently closed.

Good place to spend a weekend
This place is pretty good overall. A little further from a lot of the downtown shops, but the pool & workout room are nice. They have Starbucks & a Restaurant in house that are good as well.

Short walk from hotel
There's a small diner caddy corner from the hotel that doesn't look like much, but the food is amazing, cheap, & you'll leave with to go boxes.

Very Disappointed
My stay at the Read House was terrible. The hotel is old and the room was crowded. I could hardly walk around the bed, it was difficult getting in the bathroom and even the toilet was tucked away in a tight place. The room was next to the elevator and it was noisy. I did not sleep which is not what I expect for almost $200/night. The exterior bathroom door handle fell off and engineering had to tighten it. Engineering also informed me the elevators were noisy and the commercial HVAC was just above the room. Guest services offered me ear plugs. I was told the hotel was booked and they could not move me. The following day, at my request, I was moved to an acceptable room. I was disappointed to pay $15/daily for valet parking. I asked if there were any handicap parking and was told I could park on the street. I will not return to this hotel. If you are traveling to Chattanooga, do yourself a favor and don't stay at the Read House.

Very Busy Weekend
Our room was very nice and the location is great, just a few blocks from the river front and Tennessee Aquarium. We were in town for the girl's state soccer tournament. There was also a high school and college rowing/crewing competition on the river front so the hotel was completely full. The staff was very nice and our stay was quite comfortable.

Great Girls' Weekend!
Hotel is beautiful. Located within walking distance to IMAX/Aquarium, DUCKS, museums, markets and great restaurants. Free shuttle was very convenient. Valet parking was very prompt and courteous. Front desk clerks were very courteous and hellpful with directions to different areas around town. They even called to see if our luggage was delievered to our room promptly. Maid service was great. The beds and pillows were the best! I will definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay very much. There were just the two of us, but we were happy at the Sheraton.
We were very pleasantly upgraded to a suite and it was very nice. The location was great. We had breakfast at the restaurant the morning we left and the food was excellent. My husband thought the grits were the best he'd ever had. The service was a little slow, but we were not in a hurry, so we didn't get upset. We would recommend The Sheraton to our friends and family.
