Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites CHATTANOOGA (EAST RIDGE)

This hotel is close to all attractions in the Chattanooga area. Although I was there on business, many families were registered also.

It was very nice for the price! The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was good too. The front office clerk was very nice. If we go back soon, we will definitely stay there again.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Breakfast in the morning was very good with hot cinnamon rolls and biscuits and gravy. Nice clean rooms. Very comfortable. Highly recommend.

The personnel at this hotel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. For the complimentary breakfast I expected cold pastry and cereal but I was wrong. A very pleasant lady assembled a wide variety of cold and hot breakfast selections, and she chatted with us. I was so impressed. Eating options in the in-room folder included a BBQ site very close. A day later and my wife and I are still talking about the fantastic food and people at this very quaint and warm eatery.

I attended meetings off site. The room was clean. Service was good after the first evening when no one was available at the desk for 15 minutes I tried phone and in person. The internet was deplorably slow when and if you could get it. I will not stay there again because of this.

So we booked this hotel at around 4 in the afternoon as a place to stop on our way back to Michigan from Georgia. We chose this hotel based on previous experience with Holiday Inn Express, [...] ratings and reviews from other travelers, which were all very good. BIG MISTAKE. First of all, checking in was a nightmare. We arived around 10pm and were told upon check in that the room that [...] booked us has one king bed. We are traveling with 5 people, and I am 100% sure that we told the lady on the phone that we needed two queen size beds and a sleeper sofa. The lady at the front desk said there was nothing she could do about it since we booked through [...], so we called [...] and were then placed on hold for over 10 minutes while the customer service rep contacted the hotel. After another 15 minutes of discussion with the hotel front desk staff, someone finally came back on the line. At this point, the front desk clerk, still on the phone with [...], told the representative that she was not helping and she would just take care of it. The front desk clerk was probably the only good thing about our stay. After recieving our room keys, and unloading our luggage in the room, which smelled disgusting, we found ants, dirty carpets, black mold, rust around the faucet and dirty bedding. I was thoroughly disgusted and very seriously considered leaving to go find another hotel. But because we were unfamiliar with the area, traveling with our small children and it was now near 11pm, we decided to just ask for a different room. OUr request was promptly honored and we moved our belongings to a new room, which turned out to smell equally bad, but was a bit cleaner and no ants. So now it's after 11:30pm and we've finally got the kids to bed, but I am so disappointed that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to stay at a Holiday Inn Express again, knowing that they are independantly owned and operated, it's just too risky not knowing what you're going to get. I was also warned by the front desk clerk that the hotel down the street was known for drug busts. I would not ever recommend staying in this hotel, or any other hotel near this area. Biggest mistake of our trip. I just hope that tommorrow we make it home safely, as I'm certain I will not sleep well tonight.

We needed to find a hotel that is between the lake (where we were to attend a wedding) and downtown Chattanooga (fun events for the family). This hotel is located just off interstate and is convenient to both. We don't travel much, so we selected this hotel by reading reviews on [...], and I can say that the good comments are all valid! We will definitely stay here again.

The greeter was very kind and quickly got us to our room. It was a nonsmoking room, yet it wreaked of old, unbathed-man who smokes a pack a day (and WE ARE SMOKERS!) We went straight to the pool to tire out the kids before bed. We only stayed a short while though because the bottom of the pool felt like someone had poured sand, small rocks and maybe a few bits of trash in it. The refrigerator hummed loudly so we had to unplug it, which caused us to lose our leftovers from dinner. I usually love HIE because they seem to be super clean, tidy and never have a foul smell. However, I would suggest finding another hotel for your visit.

Attended a Joyce Meyer conference. No complaints.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating. We were able to check in early (11AM), after our overnight drive from Miami. The best feature of this Holiday Inn Express were the beds. After visiting Ruby Falls the same day we drove up, we all fell asleep at around 5PM... we didn't wake up until the next morning! You just didn't want to leave the beds... they were that comfortable! The free breakfast buffet and wireless internet were also great. Nothing bad to say about this hotel at all! Their location is also good, with lots of eating places within walking distance. Would definitely recommend to others. After a long interstate drive... you want to sleep on one of the beds at this Holiday Inn Express!!!
