Nice Place
Nice clean hotel people were friendly and got is checked in fast. The bed was pretty worn out and sagged but not bad. The pool was nice and clean but the flooring was made from tiny rocks that made it hard to walk and hurt my feet while barefoot so bring sandles or shoes with you. Great central location to Mt. Rushmore and Devils Tower and alot of stores and food close to the hotel. I would stay there again.

Best place for a Reasonable price
I grew up in Spearfish and have stayed at this hotel many times. Although it's been around awhile, they have kept it updated nicely. I had my High School graduation party there, I have been to weddings there, and now that I don't live in Spearfish anymore, it's my first choice for a place to stay. This visit was for a wedding and my husband needed his suit pressed. The hotel took care of it and returned it within one day at a reasonable cost. My favorite part of this hotel though, is the two hot tubs and pool. We were able to enjoy a hot tub by ourselves every night we were there. Although, I would not choose a room with a view of the indoor pool area because the chlorine smell is quite strong.

Westward Traveler
Dirty Floors
The hotel was easy to find. The staff was friendly. When we dropped something on the floor and decided to clean up after ourselves, I found the carpet in our room to be EXTREMELY dirty. Let's put it this way - the white wash cloth was no longer white - it was a nice tan color. Also the room service REQUIRED a 19 percent gratuity. I'm all for tipping but that was a little much. Also the carpets in the hallways were noticably dirty and stained. No just minor stains, large stains that make a person wonder what happened in the hallway. The pool was great. It was very clean and kept up well. I was thinking if they kept the carpets and rooms up as well as the pool area I could've put a couple more stars on my review. The next time we visit the South Dakota territory we will make sure to find a place that offers a free breakfast and clean floors.

Short drive from hotel
If one wants to visit Deadwood, SD and Mount Rushmore a person should stay in Spearfish. The drive around the area was not too shabby.
