Mommy daughter get away
My daughter wanted a hotel with a pool. I didn't want to drop a ton of money so we went here. It was an OUTDOOR pool, in South Dakota, in January. For this and the lack of any TV station I rated it low on amenities. The room was clean and the staff was nice. Plus it was a block away from our destination. Overall. I would stay here again, but not take swim suits, and bring our own pillows.

Should Have Stayed In The Ghetto
I had notified the motel 48 hrs. in advance that we would be a late arrival. Upon arriving at 10:30 p.m., I was greeted by a kid at the front desk, who I'm sure was out past his curfew. I had listed [...] that we would need an extra bed (roll-a-way or cot), disabled access, and the need for non-smoking. Of all of these things, the only thing they got right was the late arrival, and the disabled access. [...]..Motel 6 doesn't offer cots or roll-a-ways. [...]Now, let's move on to the room. I have never seen such a disgusting place in my life. We were in Sioux Falls to take my 4 yr old for diagnostic testing at the children's hospital there. He was forced to sleep in a crib (only extra bed they had and it wasn't even a regular crib it was a port-a-crib/bassinet). The sheets and bedspreads were hideously nasty. The next morning I noticed when flipping back the bedspread on the bed that there were blood stains on it from someone's menstrual cycle. (NICE ONE MOTEL 6!) Then there were the bikers. They raised hell until 3:00 A.M. We had to be up at 6:00 a.m. in order to be at the hospital for my son's testing at 8:00 a.m. The "night clerk" at the front desk was quite useless. Maybe he was too afraid, too busy tweeting, texting his girlfriend or just too busy watching Glee on DVD. Either way, I've gotten more work out of recycling a Wal-Mart plastic bag than that motel will ever get out of their employees between what I've seen of their desk clerk and housekeeping department.

Short walk from hotel
The only shining moment was the Rollin' Pin Restaurant next door to this fiasco of a motel. At first their prices seemed a little high, but when we saw how much food came out of the kitchen..OMG, it was well worth it. For $4.00 my four yr old got 2 pancakes, 4 large sausage patties, 2 scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and milk. Adults got even more and everything was fresh!

an incredibly disappointing experience.
We had our daughter traveling from Kansas City to Sioux Falls and arriving late. My wife asked several questions pertaining to our paying for the room ahead of time with our credit card and that we would not be present ourselves. We were assured that all would be fine and go off without issues. At approximately 11:00 PM my daughter arrived at the Motel 6 and was instantly greeted with an i'm sorry we don't have any record of that. She called me and I spoke with a representative of [...] and she called Motel 6 to try to rectify the situatiuon but was unable to. Motel 6 wanted a faxed signature of us to confirm the reservation, we were 7 hours away and a family memebers home and without any way to get a fax to them. Our dissatisfaction obviously comes from my wife confirming and reconfirming we would have no issues and I am sure from the story I have shared with you above that was definately not the case.In the end I sent her to a Microtel gave my credit card number over the phone to the front desk attendant and we were taken care of. I must add that we had no offering from [...] to help rectify the situation. As for the satisfaction survey I had to mark the questions on the room unsatisfactory as we never made it that far.Jim

overnight OK
I would recommend this hotel for anyone just wanting a one night stay. If you are looking for a room for a few days look somewhere else. No microwave, refridge, clock, or even kleenex! Internet is 2.99 per 24hrs. When your traveling on business you can find something a lot better.

Great when you just need is sleep.
We needed a place to stay the night before a medical procedure. All we needed was a clean room close to the clinic. Motel 6 fit the bill. You get the bare minimum but it was clean and took care of our needs for the purpose of the trip.

Room was small
There was nothing out by the motel. No restaurants or anything. Just kind of out in the middle of nowhere. If you needed food or anything you had to drive about 10 minutes. Not too convinient especially since there was no breakfast served in the morning. The room was really small, but it worked since we were only sleeping there and nothing else. Would not recommend it if you had to stay in the room for more than a few hours a day. It's just too small. Had trouble getting the room door open and shut. Other guests had trouble too since we could hear them banging their doors closed all throughout the night. :( Also, the shower made you feel slimy. We couldn't tell if we had gotten all of the soap/shampoo off. Didn't feel very clean afterwards.
