Nice clean hotel
My husband and I were in Rapid for a weekend of shopping and some relaxing time. I had never stayed at the Sleep Inn but I was very satisfied with my choice. We were on the 4th floor so we didn't have to worry about any noise from above, but it was still pretty quiet throughout the lobby area etc. The pool and hot tub were nice. The pool was a little small so if there happened to be a lot of people staying at the hotel, it would get crowded fast. Our room was clean and fresh. The bathroom in our room was probably the nicest hotel bathroom that I've been in for a long time- it was spacious, clean, had large counter tops, and a nice shower. The continental breakfast was good- They had waffles, toast, cereal, boiled eggs, some doughnuts and mini muffins, along with typical breakfast drinks and there was a good amount of room to sit and eat. I guess the only minor downsides which aren't that big of a deal is that there is only one elevator and sometimes the TV in our room wouldn't load the channels that were supposedly available.

Horrible Visit - BEWARE
The management and staff at this hotel are rude, dishonest, and unresponsive to customer issues. My family stay at the Sleep Inn was horrible to say the least. After returning to the hotel after a day of sightseeing we were greeted to a completely unmade-up room. The staff at the front desk did not care about the problem and were not interested in a remedy since the hotel was full. In fact, the woman at the front desk threatened to "ask me to leave" the hotel if I were to complain. Due to a major biker rally in the area there were no other hotel options in the area so we were forced to stay. Beware, this hotel books alot of construction workers. They make alot of noise at night and they clean out the breakfast buffet in the morning. The breakfast buffet is pretty lame anyways. There is a long line for the one waffle machine (this is a four story hotel!) and they run out of hard-boiled eggs while you wait. The morning staff is pretty lame, too. I asked if the road this hotel was on was a good way to get to Mount Rushmore. He said it will take you there but its better to get back on the interstate and take the next exit, and proceed through town. Its a good thing I had been to the area before. Going through town is the worst way to go. It takes forever. Take the road at this exit, for sure. Back to the room saga. The woman originally told me that the room was not made-up because of a mass walkout of the housekeeping staff and that a lot of other customers were affected. I accepted this answer and after pressing them some more, she decided to offer me a 10% discount. She said that this was all she was authorized to provide but that I could talk to the manager about this matter the next morning. The next morning I held up my family trip until 10am to talk to the manager. It was rude of him to arrive at the hotel, greet the staff, and then proceed to his office, where he them called/talked to me via the front desk phone versus talking to me in person. At any rate, he assured me that he would investigate the matter and get back to me. Later that day, the manager left a cell phone message saying that he was sorry about the mistake, and that he was going to provide a 25% discount on the room for that night. He stated that the problem is related to a request by an adjoining room that their room not be made-up. Evidently, the story I was told the previous night was a fabricated for some reason. I don't believe the manager is being truthful either as the room we were staying in was not an adjoining room in any way. Of course, when I received the bill there was only a 10% disount. Stay at a Holiday Inn Express where they give you a free nights stay when issues like this arise. There is a brand new Fairfield Inn at the same exit that has a large waterpark and is the same price.

Nice place, great deal
Stayed there while going to Sturgis. Nice centralized location to all activities we wanted to do. Easy access from the freeway. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room was quiet. Everything was spotless. The breakfast buffet had a large selection and the hours were very accommodating.
