Classic comfort with a modern edge in the heart of downtown
Expect modern amenities in every room (high-definition flat-screen televisions, Sleep Number beds) and an energetic vibe throughout the Radisson Hotel Rapid City/Mount Rushmore. Located in the heart of the historic district of downtown, the hotel is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and nightlife, and also offers a few attractions of its own -- namely Enigma Restaurant and Martini Bar (think Mediterranean meets Midwest) and 445 Lounge (65 martinis on the cocktail menu).
Highlights
  • Prime location in downtown Rapid City, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and entertainment
  • Home to Enigma Restaurant and Martini Bar, pioneer of "Mystery Dinner" meals
  • Five-time recipient of the Radisson President's Award
  • Indoor pool and whirlpool
  • Free airport shuttle
Location
The Radisson Hotel Rapid City/Mount Rushmore sits in the historic district of downtown, within walking distance of the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Convention and Visitor's Bureau, and numerous shops and restaurants. Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial and other major attractions lie within an easy drive of here.
Rooms
Crisp white linens and warm-colored accents (a yellow throw here, a red chair there) set a clean, cheerful tone in the rooms and suites at the Radisson Hotel Rapid City/Mount Rushmore. Expect up-to-date amenities (high-definition flat-screen televisions, ergonomic desk chairs, free Wi-Fi) and thoughtful details like windows that open and close.
Dining
Guests can walk to numerous restaurants from the Radisson Hotel Rapid City/Mount Rushmore (The Corn Exchange Restaurant and Bistro consistently ranks among guest favorites) or dine at the on-site Enigma Restaurant and Martini Bar. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant excels in "fusion cuisine" (part Mediterranean, part Midwest) and its chefs pioneered the art of the "mystery dinner": Guests say what they like, the chefs come back with a five-course meal.
Recreation
The Radisson Hotel Rapid City/Mount Rushmore has an indoor pool, two whirlpools, and an all-hours fitness center with equipment like two treadmills, an elliptical, a stair stepper, a stationary bike, Bowflex and free weights.

A quick stop on the way back from CA, and Mt. Rushmore

The staff was friendly when we checked in. The hotel was very nice and clean in general, albeit a little dated. We weren't there long, so we didn't try the pool or restaurant on site. There were no Select Comfort beds in our room, as advertised, but the beds were comfortable nonetheless.

Radisson Rapid City SD

Hotel was under construction which wasn't posted anywhere so we had to find it out when we arrived. I requested non-smoking they had me on a smoking floor.

excellent hotel

A very nice hotel. The staff was very helpful, prompt and friendly. The room cleanliness was good too. They had a printer where I could print my boarding pass for my return flight. I will definitely stay there again!

Good deal, great staff

Interim stop to Jackson Hole. Tried to pack too much in little time. Visit was great and the staff at the Radison went out of their way to help us do it all.

Unsatisfactory!

During a pretty busy week the staff was mostly unfriendly and short on basic courtesy. Room was old and in need of repair. Clean enough but not spotlessly so. Price was way too high for value and of the two nights we stayed, two different prices were charged for the same room!

Excellent hotel with great location!

This hotel is in downtown Rapid City but still quiet and a short walk to a choice of excellent restaurants and activities. Our room was very clean and nicely appointed with sleep number beds. Both the hotel restaurant and snack/gift shop were extremely good. The hotel had free internet service with three computers which was very handy. We liked the central location to visit all the tourist attractions from the Black Hills to the Badlands. Downtown Rapid City is very interesting with full scale bronzes of the US presidents on every street corner which are extremely well done.

Very comfortable

My stay here was very comfortable. However, for having the label Radisson I found some minor maintenance issues. The mirrored closet door came falling down just about on top of me as I tried to close it. Also, the bath tub drain was so slow it would fill up with water as showering.
