Oversized digs and breakfast on the house, half a mile from downtown
Built in 2002, Howard Johnson Rapid City draws guests with oversized rooms and suites and a convenient address. The family-owned hotel sits within walking distance of downtown and the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, and within an easy drive of Black Hills attractions like Mount Rushmore and Historic Deadwood. I found the Hojo to be perfectly located to travel anywhere in the area. The waffles at breakfast were great and there is an evening reception Mon-Thurs. My husband used the fitness room and was pleased. Staff had answers for every question. Would definitely stay again.

Terrific Service
As usual the staff was very good at making our stay enjoyable. We were welcomed with their evening hospitality of wine, beer, and popcorn, all gratis. The Rapid City Journal was outside our door every morning. We plan on staying at this hotel next time we are in Rapid.

Hotel location makes it very easy to get anywhere in Rapid City, which can be a problem with the mountains that divide the city. A very short walk to hockey, museums, and dining.

Hotel Howard Johnson Rapid City is nice to stay。 The hotel counter / front desk staff service attitude is very professional, friendly and helpful. The room is clean and comfort. I would recommend this hotel to my friend. Keep on the excellent ~ !

A Totally Awesome Place!
We had left another hotel in rapid city b/c of the cruddy, gross room and exterior. We went to the howard johnson, which was a better deal anyhow, and were very impressed! The rooms were so clean and fresh and the pool was awesome! We were so happy and impressed with the hotel and staff, we will surely stay at the ho-jo again! The cont breakfast was awesome and healthy too, which really helps with cost of travel with all of the kiddos in tow!

Great location, great value
Room was comfortable and spacious for working during a business trip. Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was very good with plenty of selection. Great value for a reasonable rate.

I can always expect excellent quality service from Howard Johnson's in Rapid City.
I wanted a room with a view and they were quick to accomodate me. I will always stay at Howard Johnson's first. My favorite room is 419!!!!!!
