AmericInn Rapid City

The pool was fun, however it closed from 10am to 1pm. The front desk lady was a little rude and crabby. We also got a room by the stairs and could hear people walking up and down. Maybe they just put us there because we payed a cheaper price. Other than that it was great.

We are a couple traveling with a 6 year old boy. He had a blast at the pool area. It was crowded, yes, but we had a place to sit and if we wanted to we could have sat in the hot tub and watched him just fine from there. There is adult swim only after 10pm. The hotel staff was great, very friendly when we checked in - I give them 10 stars. Parking was alright, we were never too far from the doors. The hotel is in alright shape, you can see some age in the halls and general shape. Really they could have vacuumed the halls a little better. (no bugs or garbage, just specks of this and that) The room was just fine, we had a flatscreen, nice setting, hot water, good breakfast, and we couldn't hear much of anything through the night on the 3rd floor. Internet worked fine. I'd stay there again for sure.

I stayed at the Americ-Inn for three nights, primarily because they had a good rate and advertised a micro-fridge and double queen beds and exercise room. The rooms were spacious and clean, although you could tell the hotel staff was struggling to get it done. The rooms are obviously worn and dated. It needs considerable repair/refurbishing. The staff was friendly and appeared to be doing their best. The exercise room a/c was broke and not repaired during my stay.

We drove 8 hours from Minnesota and arrived late in the evening. We went to two hotels, both had no rooms available. This hotel was our third stop, only two rooms left so we took a single. The front desk clerk was very helpful, checking us in quickly and even offering to help us find a parking space. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The jacuzzi in the room was a surprise and worked well. My only complaint would be the swimming pool, had a very foul smell with a oily film floating on top. I had a quick swim before bed but the smell was so bad that I was concerned about being in the water very long. We checked out early the next morning and skipped the free breakfast so I can't comment on that. Would probably choose a different hotel next time.

Walked in with no reservation and got a king suite for the same price as the Days Inn across the street was charging for a regular queen room. Very quite, Great breakfast, friendly staff.

Location is great. Room was very spacious, special walls with sound insulation, so no noise from neighbouring rooms. typical american breakfast. Big pool(did not use it).

The moment we walked into our room we noticed a distinct kitty litter smell. After being on the road for the last 2.5 hours and the time approaching midnight, we wanted to get our son into bed for the night. We pulled back the comforter to discover food, crumbs, and hair all over the sheets. Looking down we noticed red stains in the carpet. There was pizza sauce in the bathroom sink and someone else's chapstick sitting next to it! We called the front desk and had them bring fresh sheets. The next morning we tried to take a shower only to discover there was no hot water! We spoke to the manager, [...], who wasn't very cooperative and the housekeeper continually made excuses for why the room was so dirty. We eventually got her to refund us $35 for the stay and we promptly began packing to check out.

I was nervous about staying here because I had never heard of the chain before, but once I checked in all my worries went out the door. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was extremely clean and comfortable. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay at the AmericInn in Rapid City again!

The room was quiet and clean. The staff member gave me a choice of which floor I would like to be on when I checked in and the adult only swimming time in the late evening was very enjoyable. Also the breakfast was a pleasant surprise. All the items were fresh and there was a lot of variety. The only down side was this is the second time I have stayed at the hotel and the steam room has been out of order both times.

Overall a very good experience. The only problem was my wife found a tampon in the tub when she went to take a shower. Management were very apologetic and upgraded us to a different room for the remainder of our stay at a very good rate.
