Capitol Inn & Suites

This seemed to actually be a weekly rental/residential motel for the down and out. I am quite certain our room was made into a non-smoking room just prior to our arrival. It smelled of tobacco terribly bad and my daughter got an asthma attack just walking in. They had no other rooms and since I booked it on this website they could not give me a refund to go anywhere else. A nice lady came and sprayed about a gallon of deodorizer so then my kid had to sit outside for an hour to with the door and window open to air out the room. The sheets were stained. No coffee. No hairdryer. The shower did not drain properly. A man came "home" in the night and the woman in whatever room he wanted in, did not want to let him in and he took exception to her stubborn ways and expressed his frustration by banging on the door with increasing vigor. We travel to Pierre frequently for soccer and will never stay here again and would never recommend this property for travelers. If you need a cheap place to live in Pierre and have your own coffee maker, it might be ok.

During my stay I experienced the following: >two flies who annoyed me the entire time >two long hairs; one in my bed, one in my towel (sick) >during the day: several children running up and down the stairs while screaming, unsupervised >during the night: drunken rednecks hollering and using swears >extremely low shower pressure >showerhead was very low to the ground, had to bend awkwardly and I'm not very tall

The room was quite clean. However, during the night the stool started leaking and shortly the bathroom was flooded. There was a crack in the tank. Moving at 4:00 in the morning was no fun. We could get W-Fi on the Ipad but the Kindle wireless did not work. Next door there is a gas station with cars coming and going all night plus a train track near the motel, also.

This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in my life. The room was filled with flies and we found a giant wolf spider. We booked a "family room" that was a smoking room?? It smelled terrible. The floors were filthy, the carpet was pulling away from the walls. The showers leaked all over the bathroom. The "guests" at this hotel partied all night long outside of our room. The pool was black! It was June and hot out and our kids were so disappointed. My 7 year old son, said it all this hotel is gross. They would not provide extra towels, the ice machine was consistently empty, the free hot breakfast was runny liquid eggs and not much else. Drug deal were going down right outside of our room. We had pizza delivered and they sent two people out to ensure they didn't get robbed. I mean it's the ghetto of Pierre, SD which I didn't think existed. Worst hotel ever.

Pretty much bare-bones, but okay for a one night stay. The bed was decent and clean, but the shower door was kind of "scuzzy"......

Quick and easy to check in and got a good nights sleep.

Worst hotel on our trip! Slept in our clothes. Old, not very clean. Paint peeling off the walls, shower stall was rusty & moldy. The location was fine, convenient for our traveling.

I booked at this hotel because somebody sent me a link to a coupon on their website that said their rooms were 20% off for the entire month of December, and the voucher had to be present when you arrived. There's no way to book online from their website, so I used [...]. When I got there, they wouldn't give me the discounted rate; not only that, but the manager talked down to me and made a big deal about how much I could have saved if I had called them directly--not what I want to hear when your advertising has been incomplete and misleading.This hotel is nothing special, but they clearly think they are. The rooms are tiny and cramped, and the heat was stifling, even though I turned it halfway down to cool. They also put little pieces of stained towels in the room with a sign that says "please use these stained but laundry clean towels to remove makeup, clean guns, etc." I can understand not wanting your guests to use the "good" towels to clean their hunting equipment, but what woman wants to clean off her makeup with a towel that has been used for that purpose? That's absolutely tacky, and it's ridiculous to me that this hotel thinks it can talk to its guests that way, as if they are really offering something so fabulous and deigning to let us stay there.To top it all off, I was woken up by a train in the morning; the hotel is right next to the tracks. And the state capitol is not "next door" as the ad describes; this place is pretty much on the edge of town. I'm sure the many other places I could have stayed in Pierre for not much extra money would have been a lot more pleasant.

Not your 5 star hotel. But there was a bed, bath and tv. Happy that there was a little fridge and a microwave. Definitely get what you pay for.
