Pretty much bare-bones, but okay for a one night stay. The bed was decent and clean, but the shower door was kind of "scuzzy"......

Never again
Worst hotel on our trip! Slept in our clothes. Old, not very clean. Paint peeling off the walls, shower stall was rusty & moldy. The location was fine, convenient for our traveling.

Snobby and Tacky
I booked at this hotel because somebody sent me a link to a coupon on their website that said their rooms were 20% off for the entire month of December, and the voucher had to be present when you arrived. There's no way to book online from their website, so I used [...]. When I got there, they wouldn't give me the discounted rate; not only that, but the manager talked down to me and made a big deal about how much I could have saved if I had called them directly--not what I want to hear when your advertising has been incomplete and misleading. This hotel is nothing special, but they clearly think they are. The rooms are tiny and cramped, and the heat was stifling, even though I turned it halfway down to cool. They also put little pieces of stained towels in the room with a sign that says "please use these stained but laundry clean towels to remove makeup, clean guns, etc." I can understand not wanting your guests to use the "good" towels to clean their hunting equipment, but what woman wants to clean off her makeup with a towel that has been used for that purpose? That's absolutely tacky, and it's ridiculous to me that this hotel thinks it can talk to its guests that way, as if they are really offering something so fabulous and deigning to let us stay there. To top it all off, I was woken up by a train in the morning; the hotel is right next to the tracks. And the state capitol is not "next door" as the ad describes; this place is pretty much on the edge of town. I'm sure the many other places I could have stayed in Pierre for not much extra money would have been a lot more pleasant.

Get what you pay for
Not your 5 star hotel. But there was a bed, bath and tv. Happy that there was a little fridge and a microwave. Definitely get what you pay for.

Good enough for me
There was a train track that ran right next to the hotel. Good thing though, since there wasn't a clock to set in the room, the train woke me up at 5:30am- about an hour & 1/2 sooner than I usually get up. Bed was very comfortable, but the shower and heating unit were in pretty bad disrepair.

Not a good choice
Upon arrival, the hotel clerk took several personal calls, while we were trying to check in. She made us wait, and listen to her calls which was annoying. She also gave us a room right in front of the handicaped parking spots and said that we could park there, that since this was a family owned motel, it is allowed. I said that is not the case, that it is against the law to park in a handicapped spot no matter where it is located and that we did not want the room then as we requested a room in which our motorcycle could be parked outside the door. She then said she would call the owners and verify if we could park in the stripped safety zone which was near our door. The room was OK, but the bathroom shower was full of mold and mildew inside of the shower and outside. I have photos to show the excessive and unclean shower and will be requesting a refund. Also the outside pool was full of bugs and crickets, which prevented us from swimming.

Pierre Tourist
Probably the nicest hotel in town
In other cities, this hotel wouldn't stand out at all, but in Pierre, there's not a lot of options. The hotel was clean and cheap, with free wifi, free hot breakfast, and a small fitness center. Awesome location, too - just down the street from the state capitol. Overall not a bad place to stay. But if you're looking for a Ritz Carlton experience, don't go to Pierre.
