Overnighter on the way home
Close to the Zoomway this place was accurate to the high ratings from other travelers. Not the prettiest place but the rooms were spacious and clean. Management and staff held reservations for late arrival. Breakfast was bare minimum but McDonalds is right next door. I was surprised how quiet this hotel was for a Friday night.....no noise heard from other guests or the truck stop next door. Plenty of parking for any rig you bring. Half the price of Brand X this was worth the risk for the savings. Oh, just a reminder, the rooms were clean, very clean, the staff was friendly and the price was right. Owner cares, highly rated.

From Rapids City to Mitchell South Dakota this was the half-way point back to Milwaukee. There is very little in the way of fuel, restaurants or franchise operations between these 2 points....Mitchell is the place you may want to use as a stopping point in your trip....and here we found everything we needed within 2 blocks of the Zoomway.

The room was really spacious. I loved the shower and the hair dryer. The room had a microwave & fridge which was really nice. Carpet had a bad stain and the bed spread had a hole (probably from a cigerette even though we had a non-smoking room. We would definitely recommend this place.

Thunderbird Lodge
Very helpful hotel staff. Rooms were clean and spacious and most importantly, quiet. Easy access right off the interstate. Breakfast was adequate, enough to fuel up to keep driving.

The hotel was nice and beds comfortable. my problem was the breakfast. no milk, juice, or coffee. just cereal. If I could do this over I would not chose this hotel again.

"Affordable and good location"
Friendly check in. As a 2 day stay the room was picked up after first night but the dirty towels were left as was the garbage. Outside our corner room (because of endless wind) there was always a good size pile of garbage, leaves etc. To be fair they did come and sweep after we were back in the room. On the upside we found the beds to be comfortable, the location was great for us to get where we needed to be and you really couldn't beat the price.

Nothing special, but OK place one night
OK for the price which was lower than surrounding properties that are newer or part of chains. Service was very prompt and courteous. Room was clean and comfortable, if a little dated.
