Great location, good value

This hotel is older than some in the area. It is well maintained and its spacious rooms make up for the avant guard newer hotels. We used the hotel as a base to see Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State park, Wind Cave and Hill City. All with in 25 miles of the Hotel. The owners are on site and were very helpful.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Dining in Keystone is not the greatest, but dining in Hill City is good for breakfast and lunch. Hill City is just 13 miles away.

some nice features

was welcomed in a friendly manner upon arrival; the room was large and well appointed (fridge, microwave, etc). very good location for quick trip to Mt Rushmore and some attractions in Keystone (right across from the Presidential Wax Museum; speaking of which, even if this review is about the hotel: likenesses are iffy at best, the commentary about the individual presidents is quite interesting, though). One comment about the directions given on the hotel's website: coming from Rapid City, they could be a bit clearer telling people they need to go off on 16A (which I had done by chance or instinct, as it were, but didn't say so on the website). In the morning, you get free coffee (apparently all day long), plus such things as toast, croissants, etc, which is a nice touch; extras such as juice are very reasonably priced.

Older hotel with confortable beds.

The town of Keystone is great, the hotel is a little far from the main street. The hotel is not a higher class and kind of run down(old). It is quiet and the beds were comfortable.

Wonderful facility

We visited all the local sights in the area and even traveled to cities within 50 miles just to see the overall sights and local facilities it had to offer.

Thin Walls but Clean

We stayed one night to be able to see Mt Rushmore and see the Keystone area. For that and the price it was "OK" but no breakfast and we all we could hear was the vibrating bed next door.

basic

Parking was limited but the night manager helped us find a spot. This hotel definitely was overpriced. The continental breakfast was pretty much non-existant so that was disappointing for the price we paid.

This is a good central location to see Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and the parks and attractions in the area.

Great Location

Stayed at the Roosevelt. Very convient to Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park. Frendly Staff. Absolutely no compalaints. We would stay again. Do not have to bring a hair dryer,or coffee as both were provided in room. Continetal breakfast, although not fancy, was enough to get through the morning. Very small bathroom sink area was the only negative.

Right on top of Rushmore. You can attend the lighting and be home in less than 10 minutes.
