Perfect location for our trip.
Everything was great! room, breakfast, information, and location. My only complaint was what we were charged for the room. The going rate for the room while we were there, was $89,00, and we paid much more. When I booked the room, I was told that if the rates changed we would get a refund. Well we got nothing, thus far. We had a great vacation!!!!

Fantastic comfortable relaxing Getaway
We had a very nice room with microwave and refrigerator which we were not expecting. The location was close to downtown. It was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast furnished each morning was unbelievable. There was almost anything you wanted from sausage, bacon,eggs, bagels, toast, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, bananas, yogurt,donut holes, warm cinnamon rolls,cereal, oatmeal,milk, juice, and coffee. It rates as one of our top hotel stays.

A good place to stay
Very good service and comfortable room. Followed up on suggestions to eat dinner at the Alpine Inn. If you like steak, this was a good place.

East River Visitors
Very nice!
We were in town for a wedding outside of Keystone, SD. It was a great place to come back to and get some rest! The beds were extremely comfortable, which made the price well worth it! The breakfast in the morning was also nice.

Traveling family from Iowa
Excellent Hotel!
We were traveling in the Black Hills for a family vacation and for a wedding. The Holiday Inn Express was a very nice hotel with the exception of the pool area. The pool was small and the hot tub had visible dirt floating in it. However the breakfast was great, very comfortable beds, large bathrooms, and very clean. The hotel staff was friendly and even allowed a late check out to accomodate us for the wedding we were in.

The 1880's train right next door is a great family activity. My two daughters loved riding the train through the mountains and we would do it again if given the chance.

Great central location.
Met all of our needs as a central place to go out on our daily romps. Friendly and helpful staff. great housekeeping. Breakfast lacked as it was all instant, powdered or poor quality ingredients. Fresh eggs are a must. They advertise a better breakfast than they deliver.

Pick up some basic groceries (fruit,chips, etc...)at the local grocery a block away to have at your room. Saves money on vender snacks. Pack sandwiches for your outings. All the places to eat are expensive.

A good experience
When we arrived, we were expected and given keys to a room on the 3rd floor. As we opened the door the staff was already telephoning up to us to make sure the room was in order. Unfortunately the room had previously, in the past, been a smoking room and smelled a little stale. Withour hesitation we were given another room which was absolutely perfect. Coffee and hot water for tea was always available. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all.

There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. Pizza, if you have a few minutes to wait for it go to the Exon station just around the corner,German food is available a little further up the street at Alpine Inn but the Hostesses were quite rude and bring cash they do not take checks or credit cards. Hill City cafe which had a very good buffet and were friendly. Desperado's Excellant food and service and Russian beer but bring cash or check no credit cards accepted. Route 16 Diner well.. ok food poor service and "ouch" expensive.
