Pleasantly surprised!

When we first arrived I was a little disappointed in the location of the hotel -- it seemed a little far from downtown Deadwood. Luckily, though, there is a trolley that picks up every half-hour, and it only cost $1! You can't go wrong with that. Also, the clean and modern rooms definitely made up for the seemingly off-beat location. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and of course, there's a pretty good sized casino inside. Oh and the free breakfast is another huge perk! Huge portions and tasted great!

Another great stay in Deadwood.

The place was great. We stayed here two yrs ago by chance because our first choice was full and were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were large and comfortable. There is a very nice resturant on site. We decided to book a room in advance on our trip again this year and it was just a good as last time. I would definately stay here again.

Friendly staff and clean facility

All the staff members we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The entire facility was kept very clean. The outside dining area overlooking the stream was very enjoyable and the food was very good. We also sampled the bakery goods and some fudge from the candy counter, both were very good. The Deadwood trolley stops at the hotel and takes you nearly anywhere you would like to go in the downtown Deadwood area eliminating any parking challenges downtown for a reasonable charge of $1.

Perfect

Deadwood Gulch Resort was a wonderful place to stay. It is a little out of the way, but we liked getting away from downtown Deadwood. I would like to go back in the summer and hike along the creek.

Nice, quiet hotel.

Nice hotel. Very nice rooms. Did not like that the coffeemaker was in the bathroom. Did not like that I had to walk with suitcases through lobby of hotel which is also gambling casino. Should have a more private entrance to hotel rooms. Was short walk to hotel desk but I think it should be more partitioned off from casino machines. Makes it noisy to talk to concierge at desk. Otherwise, rooms are very soundproof, very quiet, clean, lots of room. Beds are very comfortable. Had hard time finding place to park since it is also casino parking as well.

Nice place to stay

Deadwood Gulch Resort was a nice place to stay. They have a hot tub and a nice work out area, but I wish they would have a pool.
