Gave Away Our Room, said no rooms, then found one.

Room was confirmed, but hotel told us no rooms when we arrived. None at all in the town. They said could not find our record. We had to threaten to call O_bitz, upon which they somehow managed to find us a room. They also showed us that they had imprinted someone else's Visa on a printout of our registration! Incredible!

Fantastic getaway.

This Motel provided excellent service. It was very enjoyable time to relax. We went out in the day time to see the surrounding area and when we returned at night it was a very relaxing time. I would definitely stay there again when in the area. Thank you for a great stay.

Great getaway.

The Town of Custer was small however offered neat shops and a must to visit is the Frontier Photo to get old time pictures taken. This hotel was in a great location to visit many sites while visiting the area such as Mount Rushmore (Would highly recommend eating dinner at the cafe, the Pot Roast dinner was well worth the cost), Crazy Horse Monument, Sturgis (visit Knuckles for decent priced T-shirts), Deadwood (visit Midnight Saloon to see costumes that Kevin Costner wore in many of the movies he stared in) , Hill City, Needles Highway, Four Mile Old West Town (small play and history regarding the town, replica buildings) and etc. To much to see in the surrounding areas and loads of fun. Take in breakfast at Cattlemans big breakfast for the price, very tasty Western Omelet. I would recommend visiting the area and would like to visit again!

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

If driving on Needles Highway you may want to bring lots of film for the beautiful views. Would recommend driving a vehicle that can clear the tunnels safely a truck the size of 2005 Chevy Silverado Crew cab or smaller vehicle. In July take an umbrella or rain poncho for the small bouts of rain.

Funtastic road trip to South Dakota

We vistited Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse memorial, Custer national park , did a little hiking in the hills. Reserving the room in advance helped a lot. It was a great experience for my 6 year old Grand daughter.

Everything I needed was in walking distance. Very quiet city. Enjoyed that it was a small down. People were very friendly and helpful when I asked about the town of Custer, SD. Would do again.

Look Elsewhere

Staff was probably the least friendly of all our stops throughout South Dakota. Seemed disinterested. Hotel is run down and needs clean up. There were probably only 3 rooms being used the night we were there yet they put one guest right across from us. They left early in the morning and were very noisy. Our view looked out at an alley and I would wonder on noise during the busy season as the hotel sits on the main road at a corner so you would have cross traffic as well. I would recommend trying a different hotel in the area.

It was worth staying in Custer to see Crazy Horse Monument and Jewel Cave if you need the stop over. Otherwise, I would recommend staying in a different town although it appears that Custer is trying to grow so there may be improvements down the road.

Don't bother

Didn't stay. When I requested a first floor room due to a disability, the clerk informed me that I'd have to take it up with Orbitz. It was early, around 4:30 pm so I cannot imagine rooms could not have been juggled. I will never do another prepaid reservation again. Ended up going to another motel and paying twice for those nights

Close to Mount Rushmore!

Very close to Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse Monument. Didn't know it was Sturges week and was a little louder than usual. Many stores near by are closed on Sunday.
