Perfectly fine

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, no excess noise or any issues. There is no on demand on the TV and due to the way the wireless is set up you can't use a Rouku or Chrome Cast. Overall it was fine.

Best place to stay in Brookings

First of all, I gave this 5 stars as compared to the other motels in Brookings. This is NOT a Four Seasons, but is great for a Hampton Inn. So, that's why I gave it Four Stars. It is the most expensive option in Brookings. The Hampton is the newest motel in Brookings. I've stayed at the other five chain motels in Brookings and this is by far the nicest. It has the best hot breakfast which changes every day so you don't have 7 days of the same hot items. The "business center" has 2 computers and each one is hooked up to a working printer and the business center is located in its own room with a door so it's kind of private, too, and not just in the corner of the lobby like some of the other motels. The fitness center has good quality equipment (treadmill, elliptical, bike) and a bench and a complete set of dumbbells plus two tvs. It's small enough that one tv would be plenty, but there are two. The rooms are the best-lit rooms of any of the other chains and if you reserve a "suite" you get a microwave, a dorm-size refrigerator, a bar with sink and one very large room that has a sofa at one end, the king bed at the other end and the flat screen tv in the middle against a wall. (The bathroom sink is opposite the tv.) It's great for entertaining people after a Jackrabbits basketball game since there are two chairs plus the sofa (which easily seats two and could even seat three). And, you can ask to borrow banquet chairs and put another three or four of those in the room, too, for more seating and there is still plenty of room. So, the suite doesn't have any kind of divider in it and that's why we like it. It's just one big room (with the combo tub/shower and toilet in another room and the sink out in the open as part of the big room). The thermostat is digital and you can actually punch in a number and it works. This is a rarity in the motel room. You usually just get the dial and have to guess at the temp. Not here, though. If you want it to be 73, it will be. There is also a "Suite Shop" in the lobby that stocks all sorts of frozen foods, including pints of ice cream, toiletries, and other food stuffs. It is a good selection but I don't know the prices since I've never purchased anything from it. But, if I was stuck without a car and didn't want to walk next door to Applebee's, I could easily have several very decent meals from what they sell in the "Suite Shop". We've never had any problems with the WiFi. It is always available and relatively fast even when a college basketball team is staying in the Hampton. We had WiFi issues before at Holiday Inn Express and Super 8 but never at Hampton Inn in Brookings.
