One night stay
We did not take advantage of any of the amenities at the hotel except the breakfast, which was great. We didn't have any washcloths in our room and I had to go to the front desk in my nightgown to get some in the morning. The carpets seemed rather dingy and in need of replacement. We would probably pay a bit more for a higher quality hotel next time.

days inn
the staff was nice and the pool and hot tub were nice and warm but they did need to do some repair work because the cement was cracking and peeling and the cover that was over the mechanical equipment was warped and an eye sore, but the hotel room was ok, the bathroom vent was full of dust and the wall by the tub was cracking and peeling.

The real truth.
Evening desk clerk wasn't at the desk and when I searched & found her,she got snippy as if checking people in was an imposition. Drove around to get to room and noticed that none of the outside doors had key locks so anyone could come and go. The fire door by our room was always open because there was no spring closer to keep it closed. Hallways had no a/c nor ventilation so were hot & smelled musty & moldy. Carpet in room was old so looked dingy. One of the beds had dirty sheets so tried to call front desk for 20 min. (desk clerk not @ desk). Finally walked to lobby and had to track her down (again) but did get clean sheets. We didn't want to change rooms because we had already unloaded the car. Then there was no DND sign for the door so rather than try to find the desk clerk again, I made one myself so wouldn't be disturbed by maid. The rest of the stay was uneventful except for the wedding party that invaded the halls @ 2:00 am to share their joy with the rest of the guests. The bed was so comfortable, it almost made up for everything else but not quite. Also, a fridge in the room would have been nice.

No complaints
We were in town for a golf tournament. We had no problems checking in. We had prepaid so it was a breeze to check out. There was a wedding reception Saturday nite with a number of guest near our room. Did not hear a thing.

Old Timers Weekend
The hotel had a great location right off the interstate. Hotel layout wasnt quite as simple as most. The room was good. It was a good price. The breakfast in the morning was the only thing i was disappointed in.

Day's Inn Brookings, SD
The bathroom sink was extremely slow in draining. There were little kids noisily running & yelling and hollering in hallways by 8 a.m. Sunday morning. The access road in and out was extremely hazardous in relation to the main roadway, surprised we didn't see any accidents happen. There was no ventilation (fan) in the bathroom.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
It was very close to shopping if you are interested in that sort of thing and the hotel was easily found as you came off the highway.
