Room was old and needing upgades.Toilet broke about 11: pm Would not stop running.Desk Clerk.Could not get mant. to come to hotel to fix.Moved us to another room ,was alot cleanier and more update. It seems because we booked on line. You got the old
needing updates room. Don't eat breakfast. Go to McDonalds next door.
I am not a person who complains about hotels a lot. I've stayed at dirty hotels before, but I've never had the experience I had at this Red Roof. We checked in late at night as we only got to South Carolina at that time. We were supposed to stay
there for a week, with a non-smoking room with a fridge and a microwave.
Well instead we were given a smoking room with absolutely no ammenities whatsoever. Except for a tv and two beds, the room was practically empty. The smoking room was terrible. My throat hurt from inahling the smell after 15 minutes. The bathroom door was in two pieces as there was a huge crack dividing the door in two. There were 1-ft in diameter stains on the floor, there were large yellow stains on the sheets, with cigarette burns in the comforter.
We talked to the girl at the desk and the hotel was booked so they couldn't move us but would in the morning. We were all prepared to deal with this since they were going to move us rooms.
Well come 10 in the morning, we're packing up, ready to move rooms, when a banging came at the door. Not a knock, a bang. it was housekeeping who harshly demanded our towels and wouldn't leave without them. We told her we were moving rooms and she started yelling at us then stormed off. When we complained at the front desk, the staff simply laughed and said "yep that sounds like her".
Well we decided that even if we were given a better room, we refused to be treated like that every morning for a week. We checked out and checked into the Days Inn across the street. Every other customer at this hotel that we came into contact with were complaining as well.
Worst. Hotel. Ever.
Very outdated compared to other red roof inns. Ice machine broken. Pillows OLD and flat as pancakes. OLD tv & AC unit. There were typical southern folk, that were sitting/standing outside their rooms. HOWEVER they were super creepy and stared us
down every moment we spend outside the room. IT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE; You have a room, GO IN IT. Other than all that it's a quick easy place to sleep at night.
