Howard Johnson Inn Spartanburg - Expo Center

Room was clean enough. Sheets, towels looked clean enough/usable. Bathroom was neat. Hotel was quite at night for a peaceful sleep. I Will not call what they offer in the morning a breakfast. Looked like they got the stuff from a dollar store. But hey cant expect royal treatment for 50 bucks!

Not bad for price and location could be a little cleaner in and out

The location of this hotel is convenient to the freeway and food which is a plus. The staff seemed friendly from what little interaction I did have with them. The drawback to this hotel is the actual room. The room had the feel of a cheap "rent by the hour" type of motel. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets and blankets had cigarette burns on them even though it was a non-smoking room. The table in the room had one broken leg and I was scared to actually set anything on that table. The counter top in the bathroom was broken away from the wall and looked like it could fall at anytime. The room did come as advertised with a microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, and hair dryer (this was seriously on its last leg). The plug for the hairdryer was broken and I was afraid to touch it fearing getting shocked. If all you plan to do in your hotel room is shower and sleep...this would not be a horrible choice. If you plan on spending any actual time in the room, spend a couple extra bucks and go to the hotels across the street.

Just an adequate overnight stop while on the road. Breakfast was marginal, no fruit or hot food or much choice, and no decaf coffee until we requested it, they refused, we asked again, and waited while they made some. Did not use any other amenities to judge. Rooms are older looking and well used, but seemed clean and comfortable. Sheets ad pad came up off bed during night--could use some fitted ones!

Breakfast was good; staff curteous and helpful; great to have micro, fridge & coffee maker in room; good value for the money.

We were just there to spend the night and did not get out of the hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at the Howard Johnson Inn hotel. It was a great hotel for the money. To help accommodate its guests, the hotel includes in its rooms some extras that not all hotels have, such as an iron, ironing board, coffee, coffee maker, safe, blow dryer, microwave, and a refrigerator. These were nice extras which made my stay that much easier. Also, if you've forgotten something, they try to accommodate you in that way as well. I ran out of toothpaste and the hotel provided me with a complimentary tube of toothpaste. The hotel did not have the amenities, such as a swimming pool and fitness center; however, that was fine with me since I never use the hotel amenities. Additionally, the hotel was very quiet and I appreciate that. The hotel could have been cleaner, but all in all, it was a great stay.

Good place to sleep nothing special, staff was very helpful...needs a little more cleanup

The employees at the registration desk harrassed and impaired our entire trip to Spartanburg! We were harrassed during our dinner at the restaurant across the street. Then harrassed at the venue we came for, in turn losing entrance back in. After spending another 30 min to wait on a police escort to retrieve our belongings and check out, the management was not willing to repremend there employees nor accomodate our party in any way.
