Old but clean.
I spent 5 nights in motels last week and this one was by far the best and the cheapest. Would recommend it to anyone who just wants a clean place to sleep.

it was a nice quiet place to stay/many restuarants in immediate area
i was leaving Florida on the way home to prepare for hurricane Irene so i wanted a place right off the highway, near restaurants, and with a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was from 6-9/ i would have preferred it to go until 10............as my son and i missed it because the alarm did not go off. if traveling near Santee again i would stay here again.

you could probably walk but there is so much traffic......there were a number of different options from fast food to mexican and chinese.

Great price for a favorite location
Convenient for two nights surrounding a visit to Piccolo Spoletto Festival in Charleston (only an hour's drive). Howard Johnson's is located within walking distance of stores and restaurants. Staff was friendly, and there was no waiting to check in, or out. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a bit spartan, but tasty (good waffles).

Santee Visitor
Nice hotel for less
A friend stayed at a nearby hotel. His stay there wasn't as good as our's. He came over every day during our stay. I thought it was a bit odd the pool was across the street, but you get over that when it's 100 degrees.

Our trip to Santee, SC
We got there early and they checked us in a little after 1PM and that was good. We went to look at some homes in Elloree that was up for sale so it was more business than pleasure. The only thing was the room seemed a little smaller than when we had stayed there before and they put us on an end all by ourselves. We wanted to be near the pool and they put us down almost at the end of the building. But other than that it was a good stay.The girls enjoyed the pool once they let them get in, they must have been cleaning the pool for hours before they could get in and that was not good, seems they didn't know what they were doing. We needed extra towels and the maid supplier us with but she didn't clean our room on the one day. The bathroom had a not to good smell, not sure why but it didn't smell good at all. If we wanted breakfast we had to go across the street to the other part of the hotel. One good thing: there was a little kitten in the parking lot and my daughter, sister & niece made friends with this kitty and they had a nice time feeding and and messing with the kitty. So they made a new friend while there. We hope that it will be there the nexd time we go. Other than the little things we had a good time away from home.

the only thing I would suggest is that you get a place that has a small kitchen and you buy and cook your own food. this would save you a few bucks.

Good location for a couple of days
A good cheap place to rest two nights before checking into Lake Marion Resort at Santee. Easy to reach Charleston to attend Piccolo Spoleto Festival on Saturday. Good price for a basic place with a very good breakfast.

"Just Right"
This hotel is just right for single travelers. The room was small, but very clean (that's the important part). I guess it would be good for couples. The breakfast was between 6am & 9am, nothing fancy. Would have been better if breakfast started at 5am and included fresh fruit. Housekeeping was excellent and the price of room was great. I would stay there again.

Orlando Bound
Clean Room for Stop Along I-95
We traveled from NY to Orlando, and Santee appeared to be a good place to stop for the night to break up the 19 hours of driving. The motel shows some wear and tear, but met our requirement: a clean place to sleep and shower, for a reasonable price. We didn't need a hotel with amenities since we were just passing through, and would not hesitate to stay here again.

just stayed overnite on the way to Florida. owners or management didn't speak english very well.
