We stopped halfway home to Fl and were quite surprised, due to the price. It was an excellent deal. We will definitely stay again.

one night in Rock Hill
Got what I expected for $34.99. door latched but the clip most hotels have was gone and they screwed one of those gold chain types in its place. no remote on the TV No shampoo in room had go go downstairs and clerk went through a basket of assorted lotions and found me a bottle. no alarm clock in room i had no dial tone on the phone until i jiggled the cable. breakfast was little debbie honey buns old stale wite powdered donuts and I had to make the coffee my self cereal was ok looking but i don't eat it i did drink 3 glasses of OJ it was good. so not impressed but i guess i got what i paid for. the room was clean but not nice and the toilet rocked when you sat on it. I'll try the Quality Inn across street next time. Tonite I'm in Jameson Inn in Laurinburg and for $68.25 it is much nicer.

Below average overall
The management and employeees are strange. Foreign owned and operated evidently. They speak English. But I wondered if they really understood what I was saying, or even if they cared at all. I had a couple concerns and they just disregarded them, tried to give me an answer so i would just go away it seemed like. The manager was very argumentative with one concern I had and played mind games as if i did not know what he was doing. He was the most rude person who runs a business that I have ever met. The "continental breakfast" was VERY lame- just boxed donuts ans toast and stale cereal. The same thing wass offered every day. The orange juice and coffee where okay though. I would never go back there just on principal alone. They should learn to be hospitable in what is supposed to be a hospitality industry. They are far from that and likely will never get there. There ae at least six to eight other motels very nearby. I'd avoid this one if possible.

Satisfactory
The room was very clean and odor free. They just finished painting the outside. The staff was friendly. The only issue was that the fridge didn't work and I forgot to mention it to the front desk.

The Waffle House down the street had terrible service and was run down. If you want coffee the Starbucks is just one exit down.

Econolodge was convenient ...
Econolodge was convenient for us and the outside was clean. There was no tongue latch on the bathroom door and it would not close all the way. We were traveling with my teenage son for five days and that wasn't good enough. The weird thing about the Econolodge was that screws in door frames, etc seemed to be coming out everywhere and no one screwed them back in. Also, they apparently had weekly rentals to construction workers that made the breakfast spot totally unappealing. Workmen standing inhaling large quantities of food in a hurry is not what one wants to see in the morning. (I am in the construction business so I am not a snob).
