Overall a good experience

When we first arrived the hotel seemed a little more uppity than we were used to, but after checking in the staff was very professional and accommodating. We were there for a beach vacation, while most people staying there were using the golf course. The only complaints we had were that the wifi was horrible (connection was weak and would go in and out) and we found a few bugs in the room. The beach is a bit of a drive away, but the front desk gave us typed directions to the closest public beach access which was awesome!

Likely to be better in-season

My wife and I spent a night recently in one of the rooms here. The grounds appear attractive and the food in the pub was good, but we had trouble connecting to the internet and getting the TV in our room to work. There was no one duty in the office after 7:00 pm, so we were forced to try to get help from the security booth. Things eventually worked out. My wife takes quick showers, but she still ran out of hot water in the morning. We think it was because a person in an adjacent unit was also taking a shower at the same time, since I had no problem about 30 minutes later. We plan to return and give it another try at the end of the season. The room was small, but clean and quiet.

wooden boat show weekend

Great place to stay. I could hardly believe this place for the few dollars it cost. I would highly recommend!

The annual Wooden Boat Show in Georgetown-SC is a fall festival along the board-walk/river front in the heart of this old classic city. The weather is great in October, and the locals make everyone feel welcome!

Not great

We asked for a king bed but settled for two doubles. Bugs got into the room at night. Very annoying. Staff was indifferent. Great pool and gym, thought

fine place for a stay

The resort is located on a golf course in the midst of a gated residential community. It is quiet and secluded. We ate two good meals at the resort restaurant.

Georgetown, SC, is a lovely Colonial Era town with good shopping and good eating. Several locals recommended Portofino as the place to eat, and we certainly enjoyed that meal.

pleasant and relaxing

The resort staff was very helpful and informative. although the staff was busy because of the holiday booking and traffic they took the time to answer questions and also look to see if they had any other available rooms for us. we were celebrating our first family reunion at that time. the staff on duty rated number one in my opinion

Beautiful Location

Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club was very comfortable and is tucked away in a beautiful location. Pawleys Island is an excellent area to visit due to the slower pace and beautiful scenery.
