Beach Time

We came down to North Myrtle to relax and look at some places to live year round. We found some good restaurants, The Bone Fish, Gino's Pizza and K-T Barbecue. The efficiency was clean but very much in need of updating. The location was excellent. The beaches were great and in September almost vacant.

Unbeatable location for the price

My husband and I wanted to get away after our daughter's wedding, 2 days earlier. We wanted an oceanfront hotel with a pool to relax before we both returned to work. We chose this hotel for the unbeatable price and it had everything we were looking for including a kitchenette. The front desk managers were extremely polite and very accommodating. The hotel was older than we were used to but we were fine with that. We made breakfast and lunch in our room, walked the beach, spent the day at the pool and went out to dinner at night.

Stop at the Midtown Bistro while you are there. We had a surprisingly outstanding dinner and cocktails there. It was a 2 minute drive on the main road. It is a smaller establishment where all of the mature locals frequent.

Great Deal cant beat it for the price!!!

The room was right on the beach and very peaceful. It could use some updating but for the price it was good. Also it was clean and people were super nice. I'll be back again.

Not Bad

All in all it was a nice vacation that we booked at the last minute...had never been to Myrtle Beach and we were going for my Nephews wedding. Great for the price, an ocean front room with a pool..the only thing that could have been better was the cleanliness of the room and hall ways. I would for sure book again with this hotel if it was a last minute thing!

Dirty old place

Dirty bedding and refrigerator, broken lamps and overall bad room condition are making your stay miserable. The price for such room should not be more than $50 in hot season, but room cost twice more. Would never stay in this place again.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!

I think I found the last hotel that still uses door keys. Did not feel secure - locks were sloppy and ill-fit. Furniture was broken. Carpet was lumpy and dirty. Beds were uncomfortable. TV was very small- no HBO or movie channels. Parking was poor. No place to eat-vending machines rarely worked. Only one ice machine for entire hotel. I realize this trip was booked last minute and Orbitz only rated the hotel 2 stars but I would not give it one. I do not think I will use Orbitz again because of this experience.

Hotel was old and room ...

Hotel was old and room that we stayed in was in need of maintenance. Door to balcony needed new knobset. It was extremely difficult to open due to the malfunctioning doorknob/latch. Toilet flush lever was broken and the flapper would hang causing it to run continuously. One light fixture was missing the light bulb. Kitchenette had very few dishes. Showerhead was about five foot and water pressure was very low. Bathroom door would not close properly. Limited parking and my new car was hit while parked in the lot of the hotel. I was expecting a full size fridge but had one with a freezer that was inside the fridge and not frost free. A/c was off upon arrival and took several hours to cool room (middle of June in the 90's fifth floor). View was great. Pool was nice. Had to ask management to turn on the heater to the hot tub.

Red Tree Inn

This is a thirty-year-old hotel, and it is moderately priced. The room was fine. It was not a 5-star property, but it was oceanfront. The staff was very attentive, cooperative, and accommodating. It is a perfect place for families. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Just remember what you are paying and where you are staying.

Take the family out for lunch and avoid the dinner crowds and prices...That way you can work off the big meal on the beach and have a light dinner in the room. Underdog's delivers, and their large pizza is huge...
