Rooms

Floral bedspreads and drapes in oceanic colors lend casual style to these studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom suites at the Bay Watch Resort & Conference Center. Brass is a traditional touch, whether it's the framed artwork or wall sconces. When guests are not spending time in the living area or whipping up meals in the full kitchen, they head outside to the balconies facing the Atlantic Ocean. High-speed Internet access is free.

Dining

Selective eaters in the family find no shortage of options at the Bay Watch Resort & Conference Center, thanks to three restaurants. The Blue Room Café caters to the pickiest of the lot with its kids specials, while Fishtails Beach Bar lights up at night when the dancing begins. The Sandtrap Bar and Grill sets the scene for happy hour after a long day at area golf courses and shops.

Recreation

Any Myrtle Beach hotel worth its sea salt will have a lazy river. At the Bay Watch Resort & Conference Center, guests enjoy two -- one indoors and one outdoors. A large outdoor pool fronts the ocean, and children have their own space to play in their own designated pool equipped with a whimsical mushroom water sprayer.

great condos and views

Enjoyed our stay at bay watch over new years 2012. The two bedroom we booked was very large with the bedrooms on opposite sides of long hall as you enter.the master even had its on private balcony! There were 2 bathrooms, master had whirlpool,a full kitchen fully stocked and a large dinning table. Living room was a nice size which led off to the ocean view balcony. What a view,we were on the 16th. The only negative is that you have to use the bellhops to transfers your luggage to and from your car. Being that there are only 2 for a 600 plus room resort, it is really a headache and time consuming.had to wait for 45min to get one, would have rather done it myself but there aren't any for you to use! Would highly recommend this resort.it also had 3 large flat screen t.v.'s!

fall getaway

our stay at baywatch was great....... the only bad part about it was the beds! they were hard as a rock!!!!!!!!! they need to get some softer beds!!!!!!!! plus there were some squashed bugs on the walls in the bathroom! the rest of the hotel was great......the hotel was close to some good restaurants and shops.....plus this time of year it is less crowded. we really enjoyed it. you definately should rent a car if you plan to go out evey day. its a good hotel for the money in a good location. i would like to go back in the summertime

Weekend Teacher Getaway

We arrived late on Friday night. They gave us a one bedroom with a king, and our reservation was for two double beds. We had to go back down to the desk and ask for the correct room. After we got to the second room everything was great. The room was very clean and comfortable. We ate breakfast both days in the dining room down stairs. The breakfast was very good. One teacher was a Weight Watcher and one teacher was on Atkins, and the menu accommodated both. We rented an umberalla and spent the day on the beach. We were not crazy about the wrist band idea. This was our third visit to the Bay Watch. Check-out was no hassle.

Fun Weekend for the Guys

This was a weekend bachelor party. It was a great place to hang out and an average hotel for Myrtle Beach. Definitely nice that it was close to several bars. Definitely recommended if you need a weekend place with the guys.

Mr

Great ocean view and the staff was very friendly. Only real complaint was the noise early in the evening. Too many young 'adults' setting off fireworks, etc.

would return, but beware

Room has worn carpet and some smudges but no bugs. Was clean and comfortable with a great view. Hotel lights up the beach at night. Elevators were quick. Pool areas were attractive and very clean! We were awakened after 11 pm for a fridge repair (wrong room) * on return from the beach , our room had been half cleaned and the door left ajar by the deadbolt. nothing was missing, but you have to wonder if it was a mistake and forgotten job, or a plan for someone to shop in our room...

The Worst Hotel Experience Ever

We took our first trip to Myrtle Beach on 7/24/2011. I absolutely love the fact that there is so much to do in Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately, I do not have anything good to say about the Bay Watch Resort hotel. I will summarize here...but I would not recommend families who are used to a nice, clean room to sleep, lounge or cook here. Here's a list of disturbing issues:1) Upon arrival, checking in was a nightmare. The computers were down (understandable), staff was unprofessional and the lobby was very wet. 2) The eleveators to the room were filthy dirty (advised kids never to go bare-foot), the walls were dirty, the hallways had a musty odor. 3) Upon arriving to the room, I knew right away that I'd made the biggest mistake booking this hotel. The place was not clean at all. The decor was extremely dated, walls dirty, light bulbs blown out, no hangers in the closet, bathroom counter dirty, kitchen floor not mopped, stove dirty, refridgerator exterior dirty, living room couch worn and not clean, curtains to the sliding glass door were filthy, had holes, etc. 4) The toilets did not flush properly. You had to hold down the handle for at least 30 secs. When taking a shower, the water would rise to the mid-calf. We had to physically pour water down the toilet to assist in flushing waste (sorry, but this is a true story). We called the manager at the hotel and she did not even apologize. I explained how dissatisfied we were and she said that she could try to find a better room at the 2-bedroom cost. Why would I want to stay in another dirty room at this place? [...] I was not happy about this at all! We planned to cook food to save money (a family of 6 is expensive to feed); however, we refrigerated the groceries and chose to take them back home instead. I just could not cook and prepare food in that kitchen/environment. We spent additional money eating out the whole time we were there. While this was one of the worse vacation experiences my family has ever encountered, we loved Myrtle Beach overall. I will try to find a really clean place to stay next time. The reviews were mixed when it came to Bay Watch; however, after experiencing the hotel for myself, 1 star is the best I can give it!

Parking Nazi (as a metaphor)

All around good experience and we will go back..let me say that first and foremost. My two bugaboos are this: I parked where a bellman said I could park to unload. Not more than 10 minutes later I was being called out loud in the lobby...'who has the gray caddilac'..I confessed to my crime..left the line to check in..moved my car..and went back to the end of the line...after watching subsequent arrivals i noticed this guy was all about his job. The last thing is the wristbands they issue for pool use...they say they will not reissue them if lost or stolen even if you prove you are a guest...think about the depth of that policy and you come up with one word: STUPID!...Other than those two things, it's a great experience...and go to the Blue Room for dinner...it's a great and inexpensive dining experience. The town buffet joints are over priced and you leave full and miserable.

Mini Vacation

I was only there for a long weekend, so I just wanted to relax. I enjoyed having an oceanfront room and having a pool bar with entertainment. The hotel desparately needs to be updated, and some of the common areas were dirty. But overall the stay was fun. If you're looking for a good value - not luxury - this is the hotel for you.
