Spacious waterfront condos by Myrtle Beach golf courses and attractions

The Barefoot Yacht Club and Resort is a collection of waterfront two-, three- and four-bedroom luxury condos that function as its own private "city," with several recreational and commercial amenities at its disposal. Four professional golfers designed the on-site courses, more than 150 shops enable guests to splurge and 18 restaurants keep visitors fed when they are not using their kitchens. To distinguish itself from other resorts, the Barefoot Yacht Club and Resort goes the extra mile with a weekly fireworks display and dolphin tour.

Highlights
  • Two-, three- and four-bedroom condos on the Intracoastal Waterway
  • Yacht Club Villas have views of Barefoot Landing and Barefoot Marina
  • Shuttle service to the Beachfront Cabana, a shared beach with umbrellas and beach chairs for rent
  • Multiple community amenities, from fireworks to golf courses designed by professional golfers
  • Golf course villas available
Rooms

With more than 24 locations from which to choose, guests of the Barefoot Yacht Club and Resort can be selective about their particular resort and its level of luxury. Built by Centex Homes and Drake Development, the two, three- and four-bedroom condos invite guests to lap in luxury, from the posh Yacht Club Villas boasting views of the Intracoastal Waterway to the Edgewater Resort, an upscale retreat with docks at its front door. Amenities vary depending on the property reserved, but all come with designer furnishings, granite countertops and spacious layouts.

Dining

While all the units are equipped with full kitchens, visitors are not limited to dining at home. In fact, 18 restaurants -- including notable chains like Dick's Last Resort and Johnny Rockets -- enable guests to try a different eatery every night.

Recreation

A master-planned community of this magnitude treats guests to an almanac-sized list of amenities, but recreational activities are a major draw. Practice your swing at the four championship golf courses designed by pros Davis Love III, Greg Norman, P.B. Dye or Tom Fazio or hop aboard the shuttle to the Beachfront Cabana, a community beach with its own snack bar and umbrellas and beach chairs for rent. The 14 area pools invite Barefoot Yacht Club and Resort guests to sunbathe and splash within steps of their vacation condos. On Monday nights, the sky lights up for a showcase of fireworks.

Great Stay!

Our place was fantastic! We stayed in a 3BR at the Edgewood villas. The place had plenty of room for the 4 of us. Furniture and decor was very nice, entire place was very clean, had a great kitchen and nice bathrooms. Very close to Barefoot Landing, which was convenient. Was also easy to get to Broadway at the Beach, which was only about a 10 min drive. Loved having the shuttle service to the beach, and the resort has bathrooms and sunchairs for their guests to use at the beach too.

nice for older people

Beach, North tower pool, movies, reptile center, mall Hotel had no pool pass, we could not get in! I did not mind, the kids however did! Remotes for the Master bedroom would have been nice. This is more for older couples, too mellow for children. A little far from the ocean.

nice place with problems

no registration office on premises. Have to go across bridge 1 mile from location to register...they offer no services such as maintenance, housekeeping, etc. The oven in our unit did not work, (no elements), neither did the garbage disposal....

There is always something for everyone in Myrtle Beach, but you have to be willing to drive to these things. The "Villa" was in a nice quiet setting away from everything. If you go just for the golf, this is the place...

Not Happy Myrtle Beach Traveler

What is NOT told to tyou is that the address listed 4403 S HWY 17 is NOT to the hotel, it is to BEACH VACATIONS rental office, where you have to pick-up the keys to the room. Not knowing this, I arrived late (which I had called to confirm was okay to do..and given locker combination for the key pick-up). The combination worked, but my reservation was not in the box. [...] If it had been explained that the address was to a rental office and not the hotel, I would not have had to "PAY" for a room at a different hotel for the night ($133.00 extra expense) until I could reach someone the next day. A few minutes of explanation when I called to say I would be arriving late would have been very helfpul and not so costly. [...]

Make sure you know "EXACTLY" where you are to pick-up your keys. It may not be to the actual place you are expecting to stay. This is very confusing.

Spacious Villa

Check-in was easy, but previous reviews alerted us to finding the office prior to arriving in town. The villa was very spacious and great for adults. Pool was close by as well as nice areas to take a morning run. The unit, however, is a condo with no room service or daily maintenance. Not a problem for us, but should be noted before booking.

Plenty of restaurants locally. The Ultimate California Pizza is very good and close. Look for coupons online. Also, Keywest Grill at Broadway at the Beach is a fun and relaxing place to eat.

recent stay

We traveled the day we checked in and had a late start put us at our destination very late(early morning). Found out that we could pick up the key in a locked key box(efficient)at the rental office(office not in builing or next to rooms) that worked out fine. Directions to room need to be reviewed and made easier with Street names. Other negatives no room service eachday (not known)and had to go back to office when room key did not work. Possitives were greatlocation, new buildings, everything (stores, shopping, resturants)were close by. Would I stay there again YES!!

High dissatisfied

From the time we checked-in and didn't have the reservations we thought we were going to get to the office personnel telling us they would provide extra towels, that never happened. The room was not clean when we got to it. The cleaning service came in and completed a touch up cleaning. It was just the worse. The pool was empty, the shuttle supposedly begun 6/1, and the onsite restaurant was closed. We were not given pertinent information. I do not plan to use this service again.

Unfriendly Staff

Overall the hotel room was nice and it was in a decent location. Things i would definitley change about this hotel is that when we booked it we were given no information about where to check in. We assumed it was like any other hotel and it would have a check in registration area, however when we got there we were confused because there was no place to check in. I had to call the phone number on my confirmation receipt and was told I had to drive to a Beach rentals place to actually check in and get our key. Once arriving we were not greeted, it was like wham bam, here's your key. It would have been nice to be given this information before arriving. If we had arrived late at night and the beach rentals place had been closed I don't know what we would have done. Also, housekeeping does not visit your room until you checkout. In this case, extra towels and washcloths should be left in the room to accommodate a more than 2 night stay. There was also no iron or iron board in the room. Again, it would have been nice to have known all these little details. When we called down to the main office they acted like we were bothering them and when housekeeping arrived they were rude. Other than this the hotel was very clean, and quiet with a very nice pool
