BEST WESTERN Ocean Sands Beach Resort

We make it our priority every year to visit th Ocean Sands. The people that work there are so friendly and kind. It has the best ocean front views and is in the middle of North Myrtle Beach. It feels like home, Our kids can't wait to go again!

Staff was friendly and very nice. Parking was tight but managed to find a space. Room size was fine for me. Had a small kitchen if I needed to cook. Bed was a little soft but that is my opinion. Older hotel but right on the beach was a plus. Would stay there again!

Only there 2 nights, but staff was very helpful. View excellent. Room was clean. Enjoyed the stay, we will return.

We were supposed to go to Hatteras Island, but Hurricane Irene cancelled that. Decided to go to Myrtle Beach for the week. Couldn't have asked for a better replacement. Getting up in the morning, opening the slider, seeing the ocean and hearing the waves...couldn't have asked for anything more. Room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was good. Beach was fantastic. Will stay here on any future trips to Myrtle Beach.

Online we saw pictures of 2 gorgeous buildings, however when we checked in there was an annex building that we were put in. It's 4 buildings away from the main building and it's dingy, dirty and ugly. Not at all what was pictured online. The room was decent with a king bed. The bathroom was so small you couldnt fit 2 people if one was trying to get ready. The sink was about 8" round and you had to close the door to stand at the sink. If you are bigger than a female size 10 you will not fit through the door opening as the door to the bathroom is so very narrow and small. We will not use the best western in Myrtle beach ever again. The tv was a 26" tube style which got 3 channels. all channels were so blurry and you couldn't tell on the baseball games what the innings or score was.

Enjoyable because of location. The Amenities are great except no bacon or eggs in the breakfast.

This hotel firstly gave us a studio miniature room no doors on bedroom or mini kitchenette. The queen bed was o.k. but the pull out was double . The kitchen promised dishes for four we got two plates and one fork. It promised a microwave where there was none. It promised a refrigerator where we got a mini cooler. It promised a view and it over looked the hot tube and we couldn't open the drapes for all the people watching us. The hotel supplied an iron and board the board wouldn't open and the iron didnt get hot. We complained and they moved us but not until the next day.The next day brought a nice room clean with double beds (4) no queen. A kitchen with a set of dishes and a microwave and a refrigerator . The iron didn't work again and it was replaced with a new in the box unit but they couldn't get the old one off of its tamper proof attachment so the old stayed with the new. The Television suddenly stopped and wouldn't work. The hotel brought up a new one and when I got back to the room it didn't work either and the hotel then brought up a third one and it finally worked. It did not get HBO as promised however. The beautiful landscaping exhibited in the web page pictures was non existent. The large indoor pool turned out to be a 6 x 6 x 3 foot deep pool. We stayed three nights and got no mention of a free night.We were very disappointed with the hotel and the condition of the facility.[...] I would expect some recompense and re-numeration for the quality and frustration we experienced.

The Hotel was not what we expected. We asked for an ocean view with balcony. The rooms were outdated and not at all what we asked for. Ten minutes after entering our room we were at the desk letting them know how disappointed we were. Unfortunately, there were no vacancies in the other two buildings.. we were put in the barracks and had to drag our luggage in the street to get there from the front desk lobby. We had to walk in the street every morning to go to breakfast.......there were no sidewalks !!!! The deck of the small pool was being painted while we were there. If you wanted to sit on the beach..........you had to rent a chair.....I do not consider this a resort as the name implies. This trip did not compare to any of the other trips we have taken in the past........We would not go back there if it was half price. If it weren't for the entertainment we found on our own.....the trip would have been a disaster....The air conditioner in one room was a window air conditioner and was not easy to control the temperature........the shower was very bad and the tubs looked like they needed to be refinished....I wouldn't sit it any of them. I could go on and on but I think by now you can get the picture.....we were not happy at all. If you wanted to go to a restaurant or any entertainment.......you had to have a car or take a cab ...........nothing to speak of withing walking distance......we spent a small fortune in cab fare.

The room was fine once we were checked in, however there was a 2 hour wait to check in, which ruined our whole schedule for the day! Not great for a one day getaway!
