Average

Our experience at this hotel was average. Our A/C was not working which did not help. The location is ok, close to the highway which is nice.

Had no problems, would stay here again.

I had a pleasant stay here. The hotel was clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend anyone staying around the Charleston area to stay here. About a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Charleston, so not a bad drive.

Great nights sleep

The hotel is not located in a great location (right off the highway), but only 10-15 min drive to downtown charleston. The hotel was eh, nothing special but for a quick getaway trip on a budget this hotel was ok. It's definitely nothing special, but the beds.... Let me tell you I had a great nights sleep each night! Just like sleeping in my own bed, if not better. Was so comfortable it's all me and my husband talked about. If you are looking for a nicer place to stay, I wouldn't stay here. If you are on a tight budget, well this will do.

Church Convention

Experience was good; the location was good, easy access to the interstate. The negative of the location would be the train tracks. - The other negative was the breakfast situation. - The other comfort that was missing was a desk.

Manage your expectations

The hotel was pretty grungy looking. There was a pool outside but no Jacuzzi or sauna. When you walk into the lobby it looks cheep with no warmth. It felt like the waiting room of an oil change shop. Moving into the interior, the elevators were dim with light bulbs that cast different shades of light. There were no major flaws to the interior but you could see cracks along the edges of hallways and doors-- just had the feel of cheapness to it. The rooms were the best part. They had everything you would expect but nothing fancy. No complaints here really. All in all it was the cheapest hotel I could find, for which I was grateful, and I did actually enjoy my visit to Charleston. If your looking for a cheap-ish place to stay it will do but just know you're not getting anything special.

OK Place

The location was pretty nice, easy access to the interstate and only about 10 mins from the airport and downtown. I checked in late at night and the club was in full swing and I felt a little unsafe walking in but I was fine when I got to my room and locked the door. There was not free breakfast as advertised. Overall, if you just need somewhere to stay, it is decent for the money, I would just recommend checking in during the day light.

okay place

Not a bad place if you're only looking for a bed to crash a night or two. The location is terrible and the carpets have a weird smell.

OK for the money but nothing to write home about

This is a typical roadside motel, with some good qualities. It is reasonable in that the shower works, the tv works, the elevator works, etc. I got a replacement coffee maker when that broke down. The cleaning ladies were very pleasant and brought whatever supplies I needed (e.g. shampoo, coffee). The staff is trying to do a good job. One night when there was a storm the place was packed with locals seeking some basic comforts, like water and heat. But the room needs a major overhaul, with lots of little things needing fixing. The stopped in the sink, the sliding doors of the closet, the rug, etc., all need some work. I can't complain too much. I was not in the room all that much. It was easy to go to downtown Charleston from the motel and easy to find my way back (something not immediately apparent on google map). It is also close to the airport. There are dozens of other motels close by, closer to the airport and a bit further from downtown. I have no idea what it would be like to try to use the small swimming pool located at the parking lot in the summer! It was pleasant visiting Charleston for the first time and I did not want to pay top dollar downtown. But parking is difficult downtown so add the $16 a day parking fee to any calculation you may make about staying outside the downtown core and renting a car to drive around. For a short visit to Charleston (one or two nights) I would recommend staying right downtown. I had to be there a week. The longer stay allowed me to also see the Charleston museum, which is good, and Boone Plantation, which has an excellent presentation on slavery.

Charleston Museum and associated mansions, to get a feel for the history. (Also pretty good on natural history, with a Polar Bear!)
